He'll be back in the future...if he stays in the UK.

Not surprised. If we don't re-sign Oakford then we're up the creek without a padle for sure.
I'd have liked to have kept Swindlehurst, give him a chance.. Oakford wasn't brilliant in his first season with us, but excelled in his second and was a lot better than Lee. If we'd have kept the 3 of them that means we'd only use 3 Imports on D, perhaps 4. Allowing us to get 2 more Import Forwards, at least.
He'll do well with Storm anyway, never bought all of that 'loan' stuff, and it's clear how much he features in those 'future plans' with us seeing as he's been transfered to Storm now, permenently.

I'm pretty unimpressed with how we handled him tbh. Whether we like it or not, we need Brits to make a roster and, to my mind, we've shunted out a promising young defenseman with a lot of upside.
If he develops at Storm, I think it just as, or even more, likely that he'll be off to Sheffield, Cardiff or Belfast next, rather than coming back here.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter... could have been handled a fair bit better. Think we've lost out on a good future long-term piece of the puzzle here.

Ah well. IF the rumours are true about his attitude are true I am happy and good riddance.

Average Brit with a reported bad attitude, I really don't get the love in with him.

I'm disappointed to be honest. I'd hoped the loan would enable him to mature in stature and return to us a more complete player after plenty of ice time with Storm. He never really did feature in "future plans" but I suppose it onwards & upwards.

I never took to him to be quite honest. I've seen us lose better Brits. I preferred Oakford.

I think he is the best young Brit prospect out there by a long way as far as defenders go. So much crap about developing Brits and we let a real possible star go midway through his first season.

He was let go by the management he dealt with on a daily basis for a reason.

it's a shame to see 'attitude issues' cropping up, not that i disbelieve the accusations but just because he's young and got a lot of potential, so it's such a shame for such potential talent to have gone to waste.
We need to do more with young brits so they're just about ready to step to the plate when the likes of Clarke, Myers, Lee etc.. either retire or move on. Betteridge didn't get a fair chance and i think he'll be another hitting the 'one that got away' classification. It can't be too difficult to set a link up between Lions and EPL Team (Peterborough/Swindon?) and us, a full development system.

Perhaps best the club should have said ' released through indirrences ' if true about intolerance with each other (club and player)because things can come back on you and it's better to be as near frank without giving all the facts. Thought it odd 'loaning' him out.

To be honest I was very disappointed with most of the Brit Pack last season, the people we have relied on in the past did not live up to expectations - Think that the team in general needs a new captain next year (No offence to Clarkie) but we need someone who can motivate the team more and help progress the youngsters (if we sign any that is)

Corey said he coukd be there for a couple of seasons, this doesn't surprise me one bit and it's not a cause for concern this was always the plan as soon as we sent him to Manchester. If Storm don't out up cup challenges in the next three seasons i fully expect his return given he progresses.

He's essentially tore up his 2 year deal with us and made a permenant move to Storm. Come the end of April again, he'll be a Free Agent but i'd expect him to be Storm's top British earner and i think he'd be better off with them, adds stability to the club.
