Just reading this article:- www.eliteleague.co.uk/video-technology-statement/Sounds great in principle but could be a long way off, bearing in mind that all 10 clubs need to have the required technology. I'm sure several (if not most of them) are ready now but at the other end of the scale Edinburgh don't even have a scoreboard that's fit for purpose?

I thought the purpose of not having the 2 ref system was to put this in place.
Why the delay?

Reading between the lines, not all of the clubs have the technology.

I wonder what the requirements are. I presume it's just the ability to watch the match tape back at a moment's notice, but should it also include a requirement for various different angles (I believe we have above goal cameras for example)? Stuff like did a puck cross the line, which I guess is what this is for really, will often need a few different looks to be conclusive.

The match highlights seemed to have at least 2-3 different angles. I would imagine you're on the right lines with what's required. Would also imagine that they'd maybe need some kind of 'slow-mo' replay too perhaps?

Would think so yeah, frame by frame, maybe even with the match clock synched with it in case of a buzzer beater? You could really go to town on it.
Seems a little like running before walking to me though. It's a very nice idea, but much like 2 refs last year, can't we just concentrate on trying to get a good ref and 2 good linesmen, who run games well & consistently, for every game? I know this'll help weed out any misses, but I can't help thinking of the PO Final where pretty much every goal was called wrong on the ice and overruled on review (as I recall), obviously you want it to be correct but wouldn't it be better to help them not miss it in the first place, before adding the safety net?

I agree with Yotes, we need to massively improve on the basic officiating first. I genuinely feel that the league is trying to improve, yet the officiating is not getting any better. Some of the new guys (Perring, Sewell) I like the look of but then you've got Darnell who I hope goes to Denmark (and takes his over-inflated ego with him) full time some time very soon.
