Here's a question I was just asked that I don't know the answer for:
Is Ling the oldest serving Panthers player (at the time they were active) in any season in the modern era?
Unfortunately my one resource Elite Prospects only lists the current age for a player, not the age they were when they played in a season!

So just work it out. If they are 35 now and played with us in 2010 they were 30 and so forth.

Steve Moria was 40 when he played, about a month younger than Ling though I think.

For those that think he is past it, have a look at Steve Moria - played till he was 50Played two seasons in the EIHL after turning 40 with Basingstoke and London, racking up 61 and 42 points.

Technically no he isn't the oldest as Jamie Leach's dad Reggie iced in a challenge game for us in 1998 and that would have made him 48 at the time.

If your including any game. Didn't GM go in nets or was that a part farce few minutes? If a game could be our first OAP. Me at light years old can't even skate so don't ring me up when short.
* all the above can be taken as a joke.

But I had a dream I played for the team and I'm 56 and three quarters.lol I'm interested in knowing who is the oldest registered domestic game player who iced for us.....these type of facts might be at least an interesting page filler in the programme rather than the same old each print.

Wasn't Les Strongman about 55 or 56 when he iced in the 1980-81 season?
