seems to me that the emphasis is more off-ice than on-ice, given that he signed as 'cover for the 2015/16 roster' 'Brandon’s appointment as Player/Assistant Coach also allows the Giants cover in case of injuries to the 2015/16 roster and, like Shane, his role will involve leadership of the NCAA Friendship Four tournament alongside Giants Front Office responsibilities'. With the appointment of Walser, Johnson,Benedict and Keefe to 'player/coaching' roles, (in addition to Thornton)they've quite a team off the ice as well !

As good as Benny was, and as much as he did for us over the past 4 years, work rate, a certain assist on a certain goal in Belfast in 2013, he's nowhere near the same player he was a couple of seasons back and i'd have been disappointed if we had kept him.
Thanks for all your hard work Benny, and nobody can take your deserved place from the Grand Slam team away from you
all the best in Belfast

The concussion didnt help, it frightened the life out of him & it took longer for him to recover, with a small child to consider he did say he didnt want to play much if at all this season. I know he was in talks with Panthers but with Corey then staying there was nothing in the pipeline. Good luck Benny & Kirsty, a real nice guy who gave his all every match.

Is that the sound of some hasty back peddling I can hear with regards to Benedict coming from the KOTG forum?
NFNF/Durty Panty or some such rubbish wasn't it?

Alongside kwall, my favourite player these last 4 years. Phenomenal work rate, and especially so on the Ling/Graham line.

Hardest worker on the team and therefore difficult to replace.

true Mark, but in reality his output of late has dropped off quite substantially... We can get any number of hardworking players, but if they arent showing an endpoint what does it matter?..
