And cricket is crap! It's not a real sport if you break for lunch. Let's top this.

Very good. I dare to dream we may have a video as good as that in the future.

I like the effort and production values, but can't say it really makes me want to go and watch Notts.
Still, we could do something on a theme, maybe Gary could do a homage to John Hurt's famous scene from Alien; he could be sat in a press conference about to announce a new signing, when suddenly a little Simmsey comes busting out of his stomach to beat him to the punch. I can picture it now, worryingly enough. Would be highly confusing for all newbies, and everyone else actually, but still more enjoyable than seeing him help that old dear off the tram.
You can have that one Gary, no charge.

The last (and probably only) top video we produced was for the challenge cup final after we'd won the league. Still get goosebumps watching it now. That really was a massive middle finger to Sheffield and the rest of the league. I don't see the harm in getting in touch with a top media production company and filming bits with the imports when they arrive. We have a very useful scoreboard that a lot of clubs in our league would love to have and be able to use, but we do not use it to our advantage enough I don't think

While I don't really like the new Notts video the graphics show what can be done with a bit of effort. While Trent Bridge's income will be underpinned by the test matches it's the T20's that generate the revenue each year from county cricket so what do they do, splash some cash and get it out on social media left right and centre... Result, there will be in excess of 10,000 people there tomorrow night. The same happened last year and I believe Notts averaged the highest attendances in T20 Cricket outside of London who benefited from 20,000 plus sell outs from Middlesex v Surrey.
Last years efforts were a disgrace, basically producing a powerpoint presentation of pictures with some music for the first 3 months or more! I could make one of those in an evening! Then when a video finally arrives there's no story, theme or anything. The cricket has landed thing is a great idea of the players defending the ground from attack and has 3/4 players involved. You don't need to make a video involving every import lacing up the skates! What better way to sell tickets for that opening game than generate a video that gets people interested before even setting foot in the arena by hammering it on Facebook, Twitter, Evening post website and everywhere else it's been!
So as someone with no marketing experience I'd be doing something along the lines of a comparison between hockey and the wild. Get either some video footage of a Panther tracking down and capturing it's prey or get a CGI scene generated interjecting clips of past players laying big checks, sniping goals, making saves etc with some rousing music and a David Attenborough style voice over of the qualities a Panther possesses, speed, reflexes, power, strength, killer instinct! Doesn't need any current players, get a marketing company to do it properly and get it on social media, but hey what do we know!

Their 70th anniversary theme for next season is crying out for an appropriate video that links the current team to Panthers teams of the past. Rousing music backed with clips of current players, interspersed with stills and clips from iconic moments from the past - shots in the old stadium, cup wins, legendary goals/fights/incidents. Big opportunity to do something really special.
I also think they should do a couple of "opponent specific" intro videos, or add-ons to a main video, featuring goals, victories, cup wins over that team in the past. Imagine before a Sheffield game a video dedicated entirely to big Panthers goals against Steelers, our players beating the living daylights out of theirs etc. - think that would help get the fans up for the game. But would probably not be done out of fear of being labelled "classless" on social media.

The major problem we have with showing videos is that the screen at the Arena can only handle 30-40 seconds of video and it isn't HD. I saw this seasons video in HD and it looked amazing but it didn't come across as well on the Arena screen.

Its about time they moved into the 21st century then and got proper tv screens not some 64bit 1980s graphics board!

This is our intro from last year. It's actually quite good with some great features but the screen at the arena is so rubbish that you cannot see them.

Ok I take back what everything I have said about our intro video. Our screen is awful, actually a decent video. Can't see 3/4 of that on our screen.

Actually I thought that video was really good, love the green eyes, pity we didnt see any of that on the scoreboard, really got the blood pumping but still the best video we have had was the Challenge cup final against the Steelers, 'Hello Dave' whoever thought that one up was sheer genius.

Looks much as I remember it tbh, never thought it was that bad at the time though. Maybe some of the panels on the board are on the fritz This is our intro from last year. It's actually quite good with some great features but the screen at the arena is so rubbish that you cannot see them. Shouldn't the videos be created with these limitations in mind then, work with what we've got and all that?
