The undoubted find of the season last year – Evan Mosey – has signed with the Nottingham Panthers again. When Evan signed last year there were raised eyebrows around the league with people looking at his CV (one year in the pros for a Belgian team playing in Holland) and wondering what was happening. The reports Panthers had taken turned out to be accurate. Evan Mosey turned out to be one of the fastest skaters in the league and one of the most adaptable players too. By the end of the season at least five Elite League clubs were hoping for his signature. “It wasn’t hard really. There were other offers but I like it in Nottingham. The fans, the organisation, everything is so professional. It’s a great place to be and now I hear Corey is back too…what’s not to like,” said Evan today as he landed back home in America. Added coach Neilson: “The club has offers on the table for a couple of guys, Evan was one of them. I’m pleased he’s back. If the Elite League had a skills competition we all know who would be in the frame from Nottingham for the fastest skater duel. “He also scored a few big goals for us last season too, but the most important aspect is his versatility. We didn’t have the best of luck with injuries last year and Evan was equally at home on the blueline or in attack. That’s worth its weight in gold, or in our case, black and gold.” www.panthers.co.uk/content/greased-lightning-%E2%80%93-evan-mosey-%E2%80%93-back-panthersone of the very few I wanted to return

It doesn't free up an import slot though? He uses one of the 2 non-work permit import slots. All 13 import slots should be viewed with equal importance. Not saying he doesn't warrant one of the two, but I think the NP is laying it on a little thick.

I'm happy with him coming back. I think he would be better as a forward and use the other EU slot on a D man.
Happy with this signing.

Why don't we just sign a forward as a forward rather than settling for a d man playing forward? We've set our stall out pretty early here - a worrying start to recruitment which hopefully isn't a sign of things to come. Whenever I saw Mosey he has unbelievable wheels but seriously lacks quality for the finer skills - vision and decision making being the key two. He's one of the many we should have been looking to upgrade on to avoid a repeat of last season.

Excited to see if Wild and Doucet return knowing CN and Mosey plus the other 6 are back.
And hope Boxill, Laco sign too.

Fair points but I would say as a two way player he is a good pick up and if he has been signed as a dual Nat then surely he is a good signing as we know what we are getting. He still has time to get better and with one year under his belt he should do well.

Meh! He better be third line See you have lowered your expectations this season then, seeing as we are going with 4 lines......

Forth line is going to be Brit kids again, same as last 2 seasons, it will make zero difference in the grand scale of things.

4th lines are designed to give lines 1-3 a break.

I'm a big fan of Mosey. His speed offers Panthers a completely different style of play that not many of the other guys can match (baring Doucet probably). Versatility is massive, I can't off the top of my head think of another player in the league that can switch between defence and offense so effectively.
Good signing for me. Hopefully more to come - Wild and Doucet please Corey!

I for one am glad to see Mosey back... no, he's not perfect (which obviously damns him completely in the eyes of some on here) but offers a decent set of skills and options. Makes a good offensive D-man (with the potential to cover as a forward if necessary) - partner him up with a good steady stay-at-home blueliner, and he should be a solid plus.

Seem to recall him coming back to break-up breakaways that the D created. While he was playing forward. I recall the final Coventry play-off game that drew a missed penalty shot.
I don't believe we've seen ALL he has until paired with players who really have heart and play for the crest in their jersey. This is where the recruiting has to step-up as they have more time to do research with no CHL this season.
Heck, why not ask Mosey for a couple of player leads as he appears to have a good work ethic and approach to the game. And check them out.
The articles on him in the post say a lot about his character.
Still would like Wild, Doucet, Landry and "The Lawrence" who can play when switched on ALL back.
Go Panthers!!!

Like has been mentioned above I want players who play for the jersey and have real passion to lay it all on the line....
