Anybody or know of anyone applied for the fan forum at the playoff weekend? I was thinking the same thing. I'm not sure why anyone would though. The whole thing sounds like a love-in to me.

Can someone ask where the money generated by the play off weekend goes. Pretty much like any event like this across sport it will go to the EIHL

I'm actually going to this. Good luck - as mentioned before it is a bit of a waste of drinking time - however some people must think it is useful - looking for some feedback TF but not expecting the earth to move

Quite enjoyed it to be honest. Was nice to see the views of Todd, Neil and Steve Ward (Dundee owner). A lot of focus on British development and the import numbers rising. Todd and Steve didn't want it to, Neil did. Todd thinks we should put as many dual-nationals in the GB side as possible.
DOPS - good system, poorly executed. The video is sent of to a list of 10 people and 3 of them decide the length of ban. They all agree inconsistency is the issue and Neil and Todd both agree that it needs tweaking but the core idea is good.
Officials - we have to improve them but at the same time, Todd says he is aware than leagues from Denmark and other countries have approached some of our refs (presumably Darnell) and offered contracts earning more money than they do here to ref their games. Also looking at going to a 3 man system next year of 2 refs and 1 Lino.
Neil is almost certain we'll have a new team in the league but not until 2017/18 (I assume that's Wembley and he's finalising the set-up). They said that Telford would be unlikely because they don't have the facilities, they just have a "sugar-daddy" in the words of Steve Ward.
Nottingham is the best place for POFW. Sheffield is the one off CC final next year.
Neil confirms that about half the league will be playing 4 line hockey next year so expect to see more Brits in the teams.
I can't remember anything else just now, it was all videoed and is being put up on YouTube at some point apparently.
Also forgot to add, conferences - Panthers and Clan were only teams against it to begin with. They understand that it gives Clan an Advantage. Looking at making a 7 and 5 series instead of 8 and 4 between conferences. The odd game would be evened up over 2 seasons. Todd and Neil both really keen on that
And Aberdeen is another potentially new side that could join us.

The reason for the import rise was to cater for new teams to the league. It now seems that is not to be the case for the moment. Surprised about the new team not in until 2017 -8. Apparently the plan is Milton Keynes based for accommodation and training and to play in London. It shouldn't take another year to set up. Maybe they still want to keep Braehead for a bit longer.

I thought Steve Ward spoke well ... shame no one from the league or other governing bodies was there to address questions about developing players and officials.

Yes you certainly have to ask where were the other owners.
Credit to Mr Black,Kelman and Ward......but where were Cowley,Smith and Mcewan etc because they were presumably already at the arena supporting their teams ?

Well, i really enjoyed that. Think Kelman is brilliant, would love him to run our league one day. Interesting points on the conference system and the refs

One thing I have heard regarding the possibility of a London team is the lack of an ice plant at a suitable venue.
