Been looking at the penalty shoot-out stats from the EIHL.

This confirms what I have long suspected - that they are a bit of a lottery. I am surprised that Edinburgh have had so many more than everyone else. Also interesting to note that in Cardiff, Morissette and Martin have taken six shots between them and scored all of them. |

Cardiff will be happy presently and I assume Coventry and Dundee not.
To add...,.. Don't like them less its a Cup/PO decider.
I am with GM here and think a draw is a draw in league play.

Think they should change the whole scoring system
3 points for a regulation win
2 points for an overtime/shoot-out win
1 point for an overtime/ shoot-out loss
This would make teams try harder for a regulation win

I'd probably go back to a draw being a draw like Spik, if given the option. On topic - twenty five penalty shots? Are these just in game calls? |

Edinburgh had one PS win that went to something silly like 14 shots each,that's why they've had so many.

Oh right, yeah I remember that. Have we only had 2 go to shots then? Lost em both it seems too. Regards the 3 point win idea.Seems good but for the one season we did it the table hardly changed in benefit to anyone to be honest. Just a larger gap between top and bottom. |

I think someone went through the last 10years and restored according to 3-2-1 and didn't change the league champions, and very little effect on other positions also.
