It would appear this team was built for the CHL and not the elite league. I'm guessing Corey's season is seen as a huge success because we beat the Germans. The only good thing is if we finish in the lower half of the league and win sod all, then we won't play in any Euro competition next season,...... That said the other teams will probably turn it down and we'll be cursed with competing in Europe again. Huge changes need to be made or this is going to be a long season. I think your point about the CHL is spot on, and the major factor in: > supposedly 'not needing toughness', as you get thrown out of the game for your first fight in the CHL; > the tendency we now have to throw very few checks; > the over-elaboration with passing when on PP's, allowing defences to get organised. The Elite League is a whole different bag to the CHL, being based primarily on a North American style checking game, which does allow / include fights. I believe we are now seen by the other Elite League teams as a soft touch, and therefore need to get an enforcer type player into this squad PDQ - not a defenceman, but a forward - why on earth did they let Salters go?? The next 2 home games v Dundee and Edinburgh could see the bullying trend continue, with the likes of Plumton in Dundee, and Emmerson in Edinburgh looking to exploit our soft spots. The only thing that is likely to change things is when Mr Black sees a slump in ticket revenues, and a losing team can guarantee one thing - less bums on seats! Let's hope that we wake up and toughen up before it's too late!

Im all for reading peoples' differing opinions on here and engaging in debate, but surely both Clarke and Higgins should be exempt from judgement (for a little while longer at least) having being victims of long term injury.... Obviously I need a better way of getting my sarcasm across. That's my entire point.... There hadn't been enough season played to have season ending judgement placed on any player Maybe, I didn't really sense any sarcasm in your post, but that might just be me. Enough competitive games have been played to see where the failings are.

Desperately needed as enforcer last night. I think we could easily get rid of a defender from the current roster for a bigger unit.

Had nearly a day to digest the game.
One thing stands out above all to me. It's not aimed at the individuals on the team but at Corey(Of whom i am a big fan of usually). My biggest gripe last season and also so far this season is not sticking with the same lines at least within the same game. I get there have been injuries but it just seems like we almost just chuck a random 3 forawrds out there at times. At no point last night did a line even stay together as a threesome for a whole period(Higgins did take less shifts after getting injured but that was in the 1st).
I thought Jacina had a good game and was the best forward. As for Robinson i'm in the "lots of fancy stuff but little end product camp". Wether team mates arn't good enough or not, it cleary isn't working. Also, i asumed he was injured as he didnt take a shift in o.t or a penalty shot, however he was the first on the ice for hand shakes. Seemed odd to me.
I don't think we played well last night at all and somebody needs to tell the players that the goal is still in the middle of the ice, however people have to start understanding that the league is a whole lot more competitive this year(had the opposition been wearing Belfast shirts last night would the critisism be less scathing of panthers & higher praise for them?).
The point on Kwall being run I have to disagree with most. This happened last year when he got his big injury, who of our enforcers took action then? This is more of a coaching decision than a players being intimidated/not caring issue in my view. Having said that i wish we had a player to stand up for team mates(Why o why is Salters playing for the Clan?) Nickerson most definatly was the difference last night.
Darnell was poor. Some poor calls both ways but can't complain as our PP stank the place out anyway.
A big week for me this week. All Gardiner teams, but 2 tough road games. 3 points from a Fife double header wouldn't be the end of the world. However no win by next Saturday at 10pm and I will then join the calls for player changes(I'd like to give this group a bit longer but i am starting to tip already).

Does anyone know why Flemming's Game Misconduct + Boarding Major has not been reviewed yet, as others have been done for last weekend?

Does anyone know why Flemming's Game Misconduct + Boarding Major has not been reviewed yet, as others have been done for last weekend? Maybe it was reviewed and they found that no further action was needed. If he was going to be banned I would have thought that it would have been for the game on Sun, they reviewed and banned Cardiffs Myers between Sat and Sun, which does suggest to me that there is no further action being taken against Fleming

Please DOPS, be consistent with your publishing of articles if this is the case.
