Hard to keep the water frozen when you have all that hot air blustering from DS the BS!

Last season it was black ice, this season its no ice.
As said, can't they use Ice Sheffield? I can't imagine Dundee is a massive draw?

First home game after winning the playoffs, a good roster for the new season both of which should lead to a good crowd. Why wouldn't they get many there ?

It will give them more time to get all their players in the country.

Believe it's because they were planning to do a raising of a banner for playoffs
So presume fans will have bought tickets for that reason

Joking aside it could happen to any rink. It's a shame it will spoil their banner raising but they will do it soon enough. How it sorted quickly so they can focus on hockey!

I would have thought the banner raising would have coincidentally been set for our first visit up there. Because the fact we didn't win the trophy is as important / more important than the fact they did win it.

First home game after winning the playoffs, a good roster for the new season both of which should lead to a good crowd. Why wouldn't they get many there ? Well, they had a drop in attendance for the first game after they won the double a few years back... so that's possible! Maybe Ice Sheffield can't accommodate them on that night? Pass... However... stuff happens, this kind of thing is completely beyond the Steelers' control (unlike the black ice fiasco, which was just sheer stupidity) so it seems a little petty to rag them for it. With any luck, there'll be plenty of alternative laughs we can have at their expense...

I think they separate out their season tickets for the arena and for ice sheffield, so could get messy from that perspective.
There's also a suggestion that their home game against panthers on 6/dec is also going to get bumped for a Kell Brook fight - though the arena still have the hockey game scheduled on the OS.

A number of reasons why Ice Sheffield can't be used:
1. We have more season ticket holders than the capacity of Ice Sheffield.
2. I doubt Ice Sheffield will be available at such short notice.
3. All season ticket games are at the arena.
I suppose they could take this game off the season ticket, but there's still the issue of Ice Sheffield being available, which is very unlikely.
I'm afraid it's just one of those things, but I'm fairly cheesed off because now we'll have to wait until the back end of September before we have a home game at the arena on a Saturday night.

They won't move to IS for opener cos of prestige, income for just That game (as its banner raising) and you may well get your wish about the first home opener being v Notts as I believe its a protracted problem, don't quote me on that though☺

As much as it pains me to say I think the black/dark blue ice thing was a very smart marketing ploy. Just look at the amount of coverage it got from all over the world.

Perhaps we should offer them the ice time. Then we could reciprocate the support Sheffield fans gave to us in the CHL games by cheering for them.
