The challenge cup is an utter joke even before this. You basically have to win 3 games and you get a trophy. Why did hull even enter the competition? Just cancel it and cut straight to panthers vs Belfast over 2 legs for the cup. Ps, let's check the rule book on this. Will it save the chairmen money? It's legal. I think you are on about the play offs, you play 14 games if you win the competition Basically you win all of your league games which double as challenge cup games , let's be honest, these are just league games really. You qualify from the group and then just win all the home legs by a big margin, win the games in aggregate, then you get a trophy. If anyone should be getting a bye it should be the team competing in Europe. If they don't play hull should forfeit and be fined and banned from next years competition. This is why we call them lesser teams.

Wonder what belfast will do if Hull go the distance and get a shock result. They'll look rather silly...

Absolute disgrace by the League. Fair enough for Hull, and to a lesser extent Belfast, for trying to get away with it, but the league are at fault here for allowing it.
They should have said to Hull "No" or they should just replace them with Coventry, they both finished on 3 points, with 1 win, and Blaze's extra point came from an OT loss as opposed to the Stingray's penalty shot loss.
If it's purely financial then swap them for the Blaze, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to play and challenge for a trophy.
