A good result and was an okay game, lots of chances all through the game but didnt really start to flow until we got the first goal, was a dull game up to that point. All our goals were scrappy tap ins but the players never gave up andw ere determined to get the puck in the net one way or the other.
Bison never really looked too dangerous to be honest but at times Rasto had to make some smart reflex saves, he looked pretty confident and it seemed to flow througout the rest of the team, we looked like pre france panthers again, long may it continue!
Crowd of 3,570 i heard one of the NIC staff say and at times was a good atmosphere but at times was like a morgue ah well we won woop woop, oh and the ref falling over that was funny haha

What a lovelly refreshing change to come home feeling....well pleased really!!! Not once was i in a panick when the puck came towards our goal, so how nice is that. Well done Rasti.....glad he got mom....hes only a ickle man, but boy can he move....keep it up Rasti....nice to see the guys looking a bit more relaxed..because if we panicked when the puck came towards goal, how the hell must they have felt, so here we have a new begining....and all of us are happy peeps this weekend. Things are certainly looking a hell of a lot better

I thought it was a very one sided game. We dominated the ice. Basingstoke didn't manage to get a string of passes together very often, successfully, without one of our players intercepting it. Rasto had a good game, but when we play one of the more attacking teams we'll be able to see how he copes. I don't think tonight's game was one to be able to judge whether he was better than Lindsay or not as he didn't have many shots to save, however those he had, he took in well. The lads seem to have the awareness they used to have and are back working as a team. Good work lads, keep it up!

Rasto! Rasto! Well on first viewing, I like the look of him. He certainly seems confident and the team played as though they were confident in him. He moves around well, was very quick from post to post and worked the angles well today. Didn't panic at all when away from the net with Bison closing in, just made a decision and calmly played the puck around the boards. I liked the way he got close up behind the forward on the crease edge( Ladi did this well too), I saw him push Simoes out of the crease in the 2nd period as well. For a small guy he covers the net well. OH yeah, BOTH of his arms work!! ;D As for the game, I thought we were the better side without being anything exceptional. We worked hard and as a team, like the look of the Stevens/Carderelli/McAslan line. Thought Rod was great tonight. Shmyr didn't look out of place on D and Danny Meyers was superb. Belfast lost, it's a big climb but there is a long way to go.

great game tonight although the atmosphere was quite terrible at times.
Rasto, wow hes small, ive never seen a netty who takes up so little of the net, but hes great!! a sure fan favourite by the end of the season.
Shmyr, hes a great d-man!! played very well everytime ive seen him in d and i just cant see why hes not a d-man full time, would have been nice to see him sort out Braff and react to a few of the cheapshots but i suppose his role at the minute is primarily fill the hole which losing Rees has left us.
reall enjoyed tonight, now lets get back on a roll!!

I think Rasto is definatley a "keep the puck out of the net at all costs" kinda Nettie rather than finesse, so I think there shall be some interesting moments to come.
The whole team played will. Big Jan had a cracker, Petricho and Stevens has good games.
The challenge Braff did on Cookie was right in front of me and I thought it was a great hip check! Dont see what everyone was moaning about!
The team who turned out tonight was definatley the pre-Rouen team!

would anyone like to agree or comment on Carson's performance tonight, got just about everything right, although he missed a couple of things, thought it might turn into the Carson show third period, but i think a well done is called for.
Ratso Ratso, did well, would like to see him in a really big game, did anyone else notice tonight that the players espceially the D,could concentrate on their own game and not worry about the man behind them between the pipes, reminded me a couple of times of Robins, no comparison honest.
Good game but opposition wasn't a real test for us tonight

Very professional performance. We have a powerplay too! Our first goal was very well worked. 'Rasto' looks very good, he's tiny but very mobile and deserved his shut out tonight. All in all I'm very pleased by what I've seen this weekend, maybe we're getting out of the rot.

Good game tonight and a good four point weekend. The lads seemed up for it tonight. Liked Shmyr in D and Neilson played really well. Rasto - what a tiny guy he is but a jack in the box.Thought he was fortunate a couple of times with rebounds (the defenders at last doing their jobs) but deserved it. Could well become a crowd favourite. The confidence seems to be oozing back. Lets get on a roll !!!!

A very professional performance tonight. Nothing spectacular, just did their jobs & did them well. I do like Rasto very much and he very much deserved his shut-out & MOM. However I can see a few clangers being dropped if he gets caught round the back of the net! I did like his 'keep the puck out at all costs' style, he will definately be a crowd favourite. I also thought the defence were excellent tonight, especially Danny Meyers, who is maturing into a fine D man, and would be my player of the season so far.

Four point weekend, hope this is the start of a return to form. People saying tonight wasn't much of a test, well last time we played Bison they beat us fairly easily. An improvement at least.

Whilst this weekend has been fantastic, let's not get carried away too soon. We've got to do this for a lot more games to put ourselves back in contention. We're not exactly a consistent side are we?
Excellent start from the little man in goal, who can argue with 95%?

would anyone like to agree or comment on Carson's performance tonight, got just about everything right, although he missed a couple of things, thought it might turn into the Carson show third period, but i think a well done is called for. I'll respond to the challenge Pretty much agree with you HM. Andy had a relaxed approach to ZT tonight and let the game flow, especially in the first period and his positioning seemed good most of the time. Carson's games often are free flowing and entertaining. Nice to have positive energy in the building tonight - certainly the team seemed to have a different demeanour. We seemed to get a few bounces tonight, one or two shots deflected wide that would no doubt have gone in the net if Evan had been playing. The Bison didn't offer much offensively but the team did an efficient job in beating them. Nicely worked opening goal - the Clarke, Simoes Myers line worked well and eclipsed the "top" line on the scoreboard. The third line of Petricko, Moran and Cooke/Neil did good work too, especially when Neil was out. A dream start for Rovnianek who looked relaxed, confident and capable and looks to be something of a character as well. Our defence looked more assured tonight though Basingstoke didn't ask many questions truth be told. Good performance on D by Ryan Shymr - nothing flashy but did some good solid work and made some good plays out of defence too. If he keeps that up a place on D beckons even when Rees is fit again. He seemed to bring some stability to the defence. Nice to have the feel good factor back again. The league may be long gone but nice to have fended off the Steelers challenge somewhat after this weekend's results. ;D

Echo many of the thoughts made by Jono and Mark with reference to tonight's game. Glad to see us back on the winning trail, but a shame that effectively the league is way off-limits now which slightly dampens my enthusiasm a bit. If we had put a few of these performances in against Hull and Edinburgh in the middle of that terrible winless streak, we may have still been in with a shout.
Still, the players seemed much more active and lively than usual, which is either down to winning last night and carrying confidence into tonight, or the buzz of playing in front of a hot goaltender. However, it was good to see. I hate to say it, but Basingstoke aren't the greatest offensive force in the EIHL, so i'll reserve judgement for the time beingon how RR performed, but his willingness to keep the puck out at all costs will be pleasing should it turn out to be successful.
Lets just remember though, folks were eulogising over Evan Lindsay in early games this season and look how that panned out, so a little food for thought there fellow netminder commentators, but otherwise a pleasing and workmanlike display from the Panthers.
