4 games this season have been below 3800. With only 2 more games v the SS to come and with most non-Saturday game to come then it is fair to say we'll do well to average over 4000 this season. Throw people have less money around xmas and a predicted harsher winter than we've had for a few years and you see my point.
I was making a general point in reference to Sheffield's problems rather than talking about the Panthers.

If you're correct on that aspect, then those fans who have decided to stop going for the reason above... Are not genuine fans As we discussed on the NHL forum Shin, it happens in every sport. In 1990 Man Utd couldn't fill a 51,000 Old Trafford for their rank and file matches.

Updated information from that muched loved man in these neck of the woods ;D ;D ;D ;D Dave Simms ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sheffield Steelers Ice Hockey club confirm that negotiations, over a possible purchase of the club, are at an advanced stage with disclosure information being exchanged. Both parties are in daily contact in order to progress matters. The Steelers will not make any further announcements until this matter has been completed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Great to see that thereis progress, but also, keepingthings behind closed doors, until something concrete is to announce. Smart Move IMO

I am fully in the camp of not wanting to loose the steelers. Any progress is good progress in my opinion, or is that publicity? ;D

We had the highest first game for a season in Panthers history i think, against Hull with an Attendance of 3,840. Overal average has been about 4,160. I think this is slightly higher than last season, only attendance that was down was the Sheffield game, which was mainly due to the lack of Steelers fans in comparison to previous encounters. Your just about right with the average attendance - its 4137. Last seasons average attendance was 3908. The attendance at last weekends Panthers v Steelers game (5809) was up on last seasons corresponding fixture (5588). Contary to a couple of comments, I think the average attendance will pass the 4000 mark this season, we have already had higher attendances against Cardiff, London, and Sheffield compared to the corresponding fixtures last season, and the two cross over games have attracted an average attendance of 3970. Our first game v Basingstoke attracted 3206 last season. I would predict that this fixture on saturday may well excedd 4000. Attendances maybe dome and gloom reading at the other Arenas, but there not in Nottingham. HL
