I thought the delay was caused by his work permit. Doesn't this have to be in place before he travels to the UK?

He will be here imminently: It doesn't actually say whether or not he's playing in either game.

According to IIHF Website, he officially signed Wednesday Surely he'll need a work permit before he can sign?

Nope, he just can't play without a WP.
Better to get the signature on the contract first before forking out for a WP...

Panthers website now says that he is 'expected' to make his home debut on Sunday. No mention of if he will make Friday's game.

I'd say it would make more sense for him to play Sunday rather than Friday - good really so he will be refreshed and rested and ready for Sheffield. That travelling will have taken it out of him for a start and to go straight into a game with not knowing anyone in thet eam or how they play, no practise session beforehand, first Elite League game etc, wouldn't be good. He'll be well ready and prepared for the Sunday - bring it on ya giant beeeeeeauty! ;D

Didn't he score a goal against Blaze on his debut for us, the first game of the 2002-03 season. I think he literally got into the country and was then suited up to play for us

JC had a bit longer in the country before playing his first game for us, although he hadn't trained with the rest of the team IIRC. Lets see now, it was against Sheffield wasn't it? And he scored.... a hatrick didn't he? ;D

As I recall MP on the day in question Thommo arrived at Heathrow lunch to mid-afternoon and was shoved straight in a taxi.
He missed the warm-up as he had to leap out of the cab and into the dressing room to get his gear on as the team were warming up.
He then of course went on to score his first goal, having never met most of the team before, let alone played with them, and received his first, well earned MOM award.
Oh, halcyon days ;D

Now, can someone remind me how that game ended up? ;D ;D ;D LOL Always have to try and win don't we...For what's it worth, you can criticise Panthers for blowing a 5-0 lead, but likewise you can criticise Steelers for allowing themselves to be 5-0 down in the first place...

Try reading the statement again.
If he don't play Friday then he makes his DEBUT on Sunday.
However, if he plays Friday, he makes his HOME DEBUT on Sunday.
I think they expect him here for tomorrow and are trying to sell tickets by making the announcement

Now, can someone remind me how that game ended up? Yep - Sheffield hung on for a draw! ;D You're living in the past Igor - there was a certain Michael Walter behind the bench that game. Those days are done and gone. ;D
