I see that an "extra set" of regular season shirts was ordered to auction off after the sponsors and players had had theirs'. www.panthers.co.uk/modules/News/ViewNewsItem.asp?ID=380I also see on the Panthers' website that the Anniversary shirt for Simoes raised the biggest bid - £630 - it surprises me that someone should pay that much for the shirt of a player who was cut, no matter how popular.

Does anyone know if the 'extra' set are game worn? I hope not because I thought sponsors had the game worn tops?

Technically I suppose they won't be "game worn", but as they are identical the unscrupulous may try and pass them off as such. As a sponsor I was a bit concerned when I read this, but on the selfish side they don't have a spare of Rasto's, so mine retains its uniqueness!

Yeah, I am not so sure about sponsoring the same next season after having this sprung on me.
It would have been nice to have the one off top I was promised at the start of the season, but all those old news briefs have been removed from the Panthers archive so can't find it.

I have been told they are gameworn, i wouldnt be to happy if i was a sponser and someone is walking around with the same shirt as me. Only thing is if they are them shirts that we had at the start with the slim font that looked rubbish?
At the end of the day its all about money...
I dont blame anyone buying the 60th year shirt or playoff one for any amount of money if you can afford it, they are truely unique.

The home & away shirts auction thing is a bit rubbish I think! Home & away shirts - there should be one of each & if sponsors are given one & players take one, surely that's the shirts done, anything after that is a replica?!
I'd love a gameworn but like these ones that are being auctioned now, if they aren't gameworns then will have the names stitched or printed as the replicas?! Also if they aren't gameworns then why pay over the odds, surely a replica with signature would be the same as bidding on these?!
Each to their own though, I'm sure I'd probably bid if I didn't have my Graduation & 21st birthday to fund!

A small point/question for those that HAVE sponsored a player, & received 'Game Worn' jerseys, do you get any sort of certificate of authenticity, to distinguish them from 'copys'?. I know several seasons ago, when my wife sponsored Steve Moria, she never got one. On the flip side, nothing stopping the more 'shiffty' types, printing a crappy C.O.A off on their pooter!

I have 3 players' shirts from sponsorship, but no Certificates - the wear and tear (they're all netminders' tops) is the provenance!
I see the article about these on the website has changed, and they ARE now referred to as "Game worn".

No we don't - didn't even have it signed either, but I'm sure last season they were signed by the player before being presented to us.

They are game worn, had it confirmed by the club.
Apparently, Adam made the players alternate between the sponsors shirts and these.
Not happy how as I have effectivley paid £350 for a shirt I would likely get for a lot less on this auction. It's not unique anymore.

but the sponsorship is not just about the shirt mate, you were Coreys sponsor which is the unique experiance with the bonus of a shirt at the end.

You pay out all that money just to say 'I'm so-and-so's shirt sponsor''? Of course not - the game worn shirt was part of the deal, but it's not unique for sponsors any more, is it.

The birthday photo with the player sponsored is no longer unique - when I started sponsoring that was part of the package - not open to everyone else, like it is now. The Sponsor skate session was also not unique this year having members of the supporters club involved - this in my opinion should be made a separate event. So the sponsor package has gradully been diluted .... again

It's all about the £'s & the $'s. We are merely pawns in the route to the wonga!

Here's an idea. Next year/season buy a replica jersey, & get your fave player to slip it on for a photo for 30 seconds. It's cheaper, & will have been worn just about as much as these 'game worn/game issued/game worn/game issued/game worn/game issued/game looky likey jobs!

but the sponsorship is not just about the shirt mate, you were Coreys sponsor which is the unique experiance with the bonus of a shirt at the end. I spent £350 to be able to get my hands on Corey's only game worn season shirt. Every other year there has only been two season shirts, one for the player and the other was auctioned. If I knew then what I know now, I would not have bothered with the sponsorship. The other aspects of being a sponsor really aren't worth the money you spend. Player skate was fun, but like someone else says was open to non-sponsors. The name and photo in the program was okay, but lost novelty after the first two or three games. The trip to the locker room was an experience, but again, not worth the huge amount spent. Sorry, although I got what I paid for (i.e. the shirt) I only paid that much thinking the shirt would be valuable as its the only one available. Wrong! Why didn't they just make it clear at the beginning of the season, 3 or 4 season long shirts were going to be made. I know why, less people would have gone with the sponsorship. Me included. Well you live and you learn.

When you think about it...there really are MORE than just 1 players shirt NOW up for grabs.
1. Sponsors jersey 2. 60th Anniversary jersey 3. Play Off Home jersey 4. Play Off Away jersey 5. New miraculous Home jersey 6. New miraculous Away jersey
Ok, so some are different designs... but are they really that exclusive anymore? The £ rules it seems.
