I like to grab a Diet Coke as soon as I arrive at the rink - usually 20-30 minutes before face off. Last night I was yet again told there was no ice. When I asked why not, the girl behind the counter shrugged her shoulders and said "don't know...." This is not good enough I'm afraid - it's not as if I was asking for something extraordinary is it?! And before the game too....
If the NIC is going to charge almost two quid a Coke then I expect them to have got their act together and have ice as well - not too much to ask for is it?
And again, how can the NIC justify charging that much for a carton of Coke that tastes watered down?
Come on, stop ripping off your customers !!

Service last night between periods was the slowest I've seen it .... a nightmare! Missed two minutes of the start of the second due to the catering 'go slow'.
And what's with the mobile Pringles sellers?!!

i know, what a stupid idea
how many people will want to buy a massive pot of pringles?
get something that people might want eg (packet of chrisps but not a large tin of pringles.
ALSO why do the NIC staff NOT stop people walking up the stairs while the game is on, WHILE THEY ARE PLAYING YOU WAIT FOR A WHISTLE, why do the NIC stafty no realise people want to wacth the game not the ungly people walking up the steps.

And what's with the mobile Pringles sellers?!! £2.50 a throw - thats whats up - they are making a mint!!! i can get them for 70p at the moment so on my reconing I could sell them at £1.50 and make me 80p profit!!! Alo whats the "Crack" with asking at the kiosk for a bottle of water (plastic) and being told it has to be decantered in a bottle? However if you buy it from the machine you can drink it from the bottle???

However if you buy it from the machine you can drink it from the bottle??? Because if you read the signs on the vending machines it does say bottles are not allowed into the arena so technicaly you can only drink the stuff from vending machines in the foyer area. Granted it's almost impossible to enforce but the rule is there. As for the ice, the drinks that come out of the coke machine are ice cold anyway so all the ice does is melt and water down your drink even more so it's prolly for the best that they don't have ice. Plus you get more drink if they fil it to the top without ice.

This is one of the things that really honks me off about the NIC. Some stuff I can't fault them for... but pretty much everything to do with the catering is dire:-
- the 'food' (allegedly) is utter crap. I tried a bite of a burger the other week - and wished I hadn't. Looks like it's not improved - and I've heard the same from others.
- the service used to be better IIRC.... going downhill.
- the prices are a total rip-off.... and has been pointed out, the drinks taste watered-down, let alone this lack of ice etc!
- the queues are just getting more and more stupid. How much intelligence does it take to put up some of those tape barriers to get the queues going parallel to the wall instead of straight out from the serving bays? You could get them going in an 'S' shape and get 2 or 3 lines of people parallel with each other and STILL have room for people to easily get past.... instead of having to fight our way through the crowds!
Anyone got Geoff Huckstep's e-mail addy? Might be worth asking him if there's anything he can do..... credit to the man, he does seem to listen and act where possible......

Whilst agreeing with much of your criticism of the catering, it's worth pointing out that it's actually run by Lindley Catering, not the NIC. I'm sure any complaints made to Geoff and his team will be passed on to Lindley's Catering Manager when they meet, but perhaps an alternative ploy is to either email Lindley's direct on www.lindleycatering.co.uk/Contact.htmlor better still - don't buy anything from their outlets!

even if it is an out side company, it is still the NIC's problem
i don't buy anything except drinks from the NIC because all the other food is disgusting and you just end up being hungary at the end because you can't bring anything in WHY?

compared to some of the sports arenas I have been to I don't think the NIC compares as bad as people are making out.
Drinks are always over priced in places like that, they are the only ones available so you have no choice but to either pay or go without. Nothing to do with NIC, thats jsut the way it is at all places.
As for the food apart from the beef burgers I don't think ther eis much wrong with the rest, hotdogs and chicken burgers are alright compared to some places I ahve been.

i've started to go to a game early and go in to the castle have somethime to eat in there..its cooked to order and its more paletable than the rubbish you get at the NIC.. also can someone tell those muppets who hand out the pass-outs in between periods on main concourse...you need more than one exit!!!!. somebody is going to get crushed or hurt trying to get out and if this happens you may be liable to court actions

N.I.C drinks are alright but the food just makes you want to puke...the hotdogs are like eating dough and cardboard i think i perfere the Blaze "rollover" hotdogs why carnt they bring things like that in..be alot better, The Chicken Burgers are ok i think its the rolls that make it taste bad they dry or really soggy. I think its also the N.I.Cs problem about the state the catering is in.As they are wearing the N.I.C logo on there shirt, the N.I.C has got to do something about it.
