Could it not increase the financial burden of smaller teams who rely on gate money to keep afloat?
I guess it all depends on how it is done.

quite possibly. It does say the positives outweigh the negatives. For who? I dont know. I can only guess the larger teams. It could eradicate these 3 games in 3 nights we seem to have a few of lately? (we meaning all the league not just us) Interesting nonetheless

i can see how it would affect smaller teams in that the wages would need to be paid longer, however it does place increased emphasis on getting the teams business model correct, if your incomes are not paying your outgoings there is a more fundamental issue within the club. but like NB says in the NEP, drawing out the games would make it more feasilble on the fans so the attendances may increase as people won't be forced into buying several game tickets for one week. it would be more balanced and so people could afford to attend more.
i like the idea personally, potentially we could see less fixture changes as well.

They'll still change the fixtures willy nilly, little teams will not be able to compete. But the big teams can charge more for a season ticket??? Also add in some extra income by playing Euro teams. Lovely.

Lovely. It won't be charging more for a ST, it will be 27 home fixtures. IF we have 35 home games, say goodbye to the Steelers games for the ST.
