BIH has started a rumour that Mike Ellis is to return to Panthers this summer because he's left his job in Italy......
I think this rumour has very little substance but what do people think?

Doubt it. Based on coincidence and little else it seems.

I pray that this happens. I wouldn't be adverse to having him back but that said I do think it would have been better to keep him in the first place. I rated Ellis and still do. Worth noting he has been fired from his job in Italy so something has obviously gone wrong there. I am not saying the fact he left before is reason not to take him, moreover that he's now got to start from square one should he return rather than building on what he'd already achieved had he been retained. He left under a cloud though and I can't see him coming back unless it is to work for a different GM. I do often wonder what Ellis could have achieved if he'd been afforded the same resources as Neilson (that's not a dig at Neil Black, fair to say we may have become more liquid since Ellis left, freeing up more budget). Ellis never had a spare import from what I remember, in fact I remember him dusting down his #44 when times were hard and icing himself. 2 more years and the same support as Neilson has had and I think Ellis would have been very successful.

Ellis was the right man at the wrong time IMO. Had he been given 3 seasons and the budget of Corey of these last 3 seasons, it would have been a very different picture IMO

And that's all you need to hear... BIH's track record on rumours is worse than mine on the National Lottery... having said that, since I've actually come out and said it - they'll probably be bang on! But I for one doubt it...

I think Stancok was out with concussion.

I wouldn't mind seeing Ellis back, I enjoyed watching us play under him. I can't see it happening though.

Not a chance unless we have major changes in the GM office!

Oh god please no! I've never seen such heartless, unmotivated teams as Ellis gave us. I remember the dark days of Ellis when a four point weekend was totally unheard of.

No thanks - playing Corey as a Centre? Remember that?

It's a no thanks for me too. Not that it'd ever happen with GM and NB at the club. Seems an odd rumour, even for BIH.

I've heard new coach next season will be Gerad Adams, almost sure of it.

If you thought that the Galbraith incident in Belfast was poor then wind back to the Ellis era. The whole team including Ellis were in Rockies and worse for wear.

Has done well this year but not the man for the job in my opinion, not an out and out bench coach with significant pedigree. That is the only type of guy this club should be going after, no rookie bench coaches, no player coaches. Seasoned, proven coach.

Until 4AM with the game the next night? "Ellis didnt sign a centre", must have been dreaming 2 of the best weve had in recent years then when Gallant and Stevens won us the playoffs. Having said that, it wont happen and I dont think Id want it to. Equally as uninspired by Adams though tbh. Its taken him what, 3 years to figure how to get a result on a big rink, he wouldnt get that long in Nottingham.
