Corey is leaving at the end of the season, not because he's being sacked, but because he is going back to canada with his family.

He wants to bring his kids up in Canada, and for them to go to school there.

Jumping before he's pushed IMO. He knows he can't win the league here and to "let slip" he's going back to Canada for his kids sounds like a kop out to me.

Let's look at the facts. Last season we were in the title race until the FINAL day of the season. Corey's kids are at an age where they will be starting school in the next year or at a stretch two. Now just from those two points alone it seems quite feasible that Corey wants his kids schooled in Canada now they've reached that age and not only that but he could, given time coach us to a league title. This season hasn't gone great but then there has been plenty of reasons outside of CN's control that have contributed to this. To start suggesting that the guy has bottled it is just completely wide of the mark and unfair imo. Let's not forget that CN has given us five great years of service as probably the best offensive d-man I have seen in Panthers colours. I think he deserves more respect that what he's currently getting.

If true then surely this is just par for the course. The 'doing it for the kids' is simply the same as the usual claptrap reasons we lost, bad bounces, broken sticks, poor calls etc etc.
Shouldn't give him the satisfaction of choosing to go, he should be sacked now and sent on his way, at least give a new guy some time to convince K-wall and Lepine to stay on.

I know it's the coaches fault and all this, he tells the players how to play and all that, but he doesn't CONTROL there every movement, just because the players didnt turn up doesnt mean it was his fault.

If he does go then it will be GM's mate Strachen in charge. The appointment always comes from the inner circle.

But from what I've been told by people who really should know what actually happens he is big on discipline. I don't think Corey being too soft is the problem to be honest. I'm not sure what the problem is but I don't think it's down to CN being "one of the boys".

Coreys future is in his own hands IMO.
He can either rip a few peoples heads off and show em who the boss is, or he can wimper out and go off back to Canada.
If he leaves, I'm sure he will be a top successful coach in a different enviroment.

corey needs a little more time as a player, under a good coach, to learn the trade a little better - think he will come good eventually. now is njust not his time.

Well said Bramley, you do realise though you risk being labelled as a 'happy clapper' for the rest of your days.

Happy clappers on this forum, its never been so.
Who do we think will replace him though? Some one tried to tell me an ex NHL coach will be coming in with many years behind him and a very impressive history. How many times have we heard that before?
