So you have written permission to use the Panthers logo? Guy's you're just giving your designs away here. You would only need permission to use the logo if your plan was to independently sell the items on to the public, the designs i produced were samples for the club/shop to see.

Avery is talking about selling them.
I would have thought the logo / name was protected, Mr Black is not stupid.
Although anything is possible.

Sorry mate i thought he was talking about selling them through the club. I know when i was doing the merchandise years ago there was no copyright in place for the logo although i was once told off for making personal items for some of the players and it infringed on image rights even though it was the guys that had come to me and we were only using their squad number and autograph.

Just to clarify, I am trying to sell though the club. However, going down the vintage route, I don't think the old Panthers logo is copyrighted as there is another thread on here which shows it is used on a casual t-shirt and in the DEL etc, so that could be a possibility going forward..

There is a copyright on the logo, but the older logo's are not copyrighted. When we required use of a logo a couple of years ago we asked i we could have an old one to use and were told yes, then promptly given the latest one instead. However I must add that we were not putting the logo on to products to sell.

Merky world of copyright. I would advise getting written permision from the club no matter which route you go. Be careful or you could end up paying out more than you make.

Yellow or grey t-shirts would work for me. Black is just too plain and as the original example was an NHL equivalent, all of those ones are in the colours of the home jersey. Now I know grey isn't a home colour, but it works as a colour scheme. Again, yellow (or gold) isn't the clubs colour any more (seems it is being phased out) but it is a colour that is synonymous with the team, so I think that would work.

I'd buy a Ross Lambert one of those! Out of interest, if i was to make up a few of those (with permission), how much would people be willing to buy?

Bit of both really. What players and how much would you spend?

I can vouch for ALG, his designs are fantastic, and why they haven't been taken up by the club is beyond me, the stuff in the shop is rubbish, how great would it be to go into the club shop and see a vintage range along with the new logo stuff in hoodies, t shirts, caps etc. They would fly out. I feel so sorry for people who cannot afford or want the replica shirt, because with items like these they wouldn't break the bank and look good.
The club are big on advertising to get new people through the doors, you cannot really wear your Panthers shirt out and about, whereas a nice hoody or t shirt fashion range with jeans with the eye catching logo would advertise the team really well.
With items like these, there are thousands of pounds to be made. Its a pity the club are not seeing this and getting ALG to at least on a trial basis, see if the stuff sells.
