This 'new' signing should at least give us a clue to Panthers ambitions this year. I would think Jay would have been one of our top earners so it will be interesting to see what type of replacement we get. Will it be an experienced top end import with AHL, or possibly NHL, experience, who will obviously cost more money. Or will it be someone from Europe or one of the lower leagues in North America which would cost less.
Several people have commented on numerous threads that, in their opinion, Panthers do not seem to have spent up to the clubs apparent spending limit this year. Who we get as Jay's replacement may give us some idea as to what Panthers are willing to pay to improve the squad.

Spending alot of money on a player does not always mean it will be an improvement to the squad its not about how much the player costs it about getting a player that fits the role that Jay would have played.

I agree that spending more money does not always mean it will be an improvement to the squad, but I would also say for the majority of time it is. Before signing a player a club will have, or should have, done extensive background checks on any prospective signing. They will also have one or two players in mind before signing the better fit for the team. I just believe that possibly 90% of the time it will be the more experienced player they will sign. The only thing that could stop them doing this would be the cost implications in signing that player.

Thommo may already know, he has a couple of injuries, so may have been offered the same players we have been! Agents talk!

What about that dude who signed for Hull, then left. He was a centre and looked superb.

Why is there so much talk about us bringing another centre in. We already have Sproat, Myers and Billy Ryan is also a centre I believe. I would have thought if we were looking at bringing someone in surely a tough in-your-face winger would be a better option.
Having said that if Jinman wanted to come back I would not say no, but like others have said I can't see this happening this season.
