Tessier to ignore the boo-boys DAN TESSIER goes back to the Nottingham Panthers club he quit mid-season ready to face the boo-boys. Many of his former fans were upset when he left after 25 games, to join an elite Swiss side. And his re-appearance in Sheffield Steelers colours tomorrow is unlikely to heal those wounds. Full story here www.sheffieldtoday.net/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=5083&ArticleID=1846416well I wasn't gonna boo him but I think I will now.

seems like very level headed comments, i won't boo him(for one thing dont wanna make him any better, lol) , like he said MWB told him to take the opportunity and he did, i got no problems witt that, as for signing for sheffield IMO its fair enough, you get offered a contract, its the best offer you sign. just hope he does not score tommorow,!! lol :-D

this thread could turn into a "why boo the opponents and/or ex-players?".
I hear booing at home games, i personally think its wrong, I won't boo Tessier, he's a good ice hockey player, he made that decision last year to leave the Panthers, he has made the decision to play for Sheelers this year, so what.
I have heard from a Sheelers fan though that he (Tessier) has not been playing very well, we shall soon see.

I won't boo him either, but I will cheer when Simoes smears him all over the plexi.

I think it would annoy him more and unsettle his ego if we showed him no emotion whatsoever.
No boo'ing, no cheering..........just treat him as if he's not there.

I don't go in for booing, personally... although if he does something dumb, no doubt a few mocking comments will follow.... ;D And I am definitely hoping that Simoes has Tessier in his cross-hairs... "taste the plexi!" ;D ;D

or money thats what I want by the beatles
or money moeny money its a rich mans world by abba
not bothered about him signing and playing for the steelers , but he deserves something for walking out on us for money last season .

I don't disagree with the way he left our club as if the opportunity arose for anyone in any career position that would take a step up on the ladder, more bonus, more wages etc. You'd be a fool not to take it!! BUT..................................... Theres no loyalty in Hockey, just colorful strips & money!!
I personally think his bluffing! We all know how short tempered he is and I think he can be easily riled, if he gets pushed and pushed he will react its human nature. I think he'll be the spark that sets off Cloots & Shmyr and I also think he'll get a game misconduct.
Lets give him and the rest of the team hell hell & I certainly do not want to be drowned out by the opposing fans this time around, so lets get it together! We really need this one!

I don't mind the booing but I won't myself here as I don't know the whole situation. Fair do's he was not contacted BUT did he even try to contact us? (for more money?)..... He's the enemy and I too agree that no vocal energy when he is named will be more of a shock to his system than anything else. Ignore him. Let the players do the stuff.

Steelers generally get booed onto the ice anyway. With it being the first encounter this season it'll probably be extra loud.
If we put as much effort into cheering our team on as we did to booing the opposing steelers we'd bring the house down.
Regardless of what anyone says, if fans make a loud intimidating atmosphere the team on the ice performs.

Its a similar scenario to when Craighead made his first visit back to the NIC. Booed in some areas and then applauded in others. The clapping soon changed to booing though when he smashed Cadotte into the boards. I expect the same from Tessier. If he scores then he will get booed more, if he scores and celebrates more so then the booing will get louder.
Also, the more beer that gets drunk the louder the booing will be!
