Got a feeling the IIHF have got just what they wanted. Know we can outplay Ritten but will we get a fair chance at the game???

Ritten look like an aggressive team, no surprise it seemed some of the incident in the highlights didn't look like they were called. Could get dangerous tomorrow night, we should be able to take advantage of the stupid penalties they'd take however I don't hold much hope as I'm sure the officials will have Ritten's back and let them get away with just about everything.

That's a better angle than the webcast but I still struggle to see how it justifies the goal being disallowed. He isn't completely in the crease and is being pushed in and doesn't obstruct the netminder's movement, plenty of goals have been allowed with a player further in the crease than one leg. Fair point on seeing them given NYR, but if it were at the other end would we/Miika be happy about it? As I said, I can see why it wasn't given, I don't think it's an unreasonable call to be made (and the ref sees the lot in a split second, of course). I only saw the webcast view before I watched the highlights (didn't realise it was a different angle) so can see your point now. I would see the slight annoyance but I wouldn't get too hung up on it if it was against Wiikman.

His right leg is clearly inside the crease and he's right in front of the guy when Farmer shoots. That's a better angle than the webcast but I still struggle to see how it justifies the goal being disallowed. He isn't completely in the crease and is being pushed in and doesn't obstruct the netminder's movement, plenty of goals have been allowed with a player further in the crease than one leg.

Highlights I can see why that Farmer effort was disallowed. Dimmen (I think) looks to go through the crease and takes the netminders sight away, seems fair enough to me. I struggle to see how it was disallowed for man in crease, he wasn't in the crease he just skated across the front of their goal and doesn't obstruct the goalies movement!? Plenty of goals are allowed in the same situation so find it hard to see why it was disallowed.

Well I'll take the win but not overly confident for tomorrow at all. Would of had that in regulation if it wasn't for the god awful and obviously biased reffing..

Not feeling too confident for this third to be honest, big period needed and can tell we're missing Schultz again. See the suspicious calls have started to creep in with the perfectly fine goal disallowed and a funny penalty call for their PP goal.

Nikiforuk out as he has travelled back to Nottingham due to the birth of his child. Fair enough reason for leave but leaves us weaker for the weekend.

We looked very complacent and it was a real poor game but another 2 points is all that matters.

Gutting result, if it wasn't for the goalie issues we would of won that game in regulation time. We lacked some instensity and sharpness from recent games but we were still the better team until we got nervy due to Green being in net. Hope it's not a mild concussion or something and that Henry is fine, hopefully have either him or Miika back for Monday otherwise it could be 2 points lost against another poor side.

Slow 1st period but we kept our heads and fought our way back to a great win. Pacl shouldn't of really done what he did to celebrate but the guy is a kid, still a little naive, passionate and he's got a win after the last time he played we put shambles of a display in front of him. Enjoyed watching him celebrate and it may of added more feistiness to the NYE game with their little strop from Noble.

Sounds like we'll be even shorter tonight, latest OS says we hope to ice the same lineup as against Sheffield but there is sickness in the camp and some players have missed morning skate.

One frustrating game but bitter sweet win. We spent most of the game playing poor compared to previous games and the Steelers but we kept ourselves in there and kept fighting and took advantage of their indiscipline. Miika bailied us out with some fantastic saves, a well deserved MoM. Extremely impressed with Williams, cracking player and yet we still have more to see from him. Still buzzing from that GWG!

So it's almost 6pm and no further update on face off. Surely they know now if it's delayed or not!!!! They've said they're aiming for a 8pm face off.

Best performance of the season there! Each and every one of the players proved what they can do, it's frustrating why they don't play like it every game but hoping it becomes more frequent.

Best wishes to his father. Sad to see him go, thought he was just what we needed in our D core to balance it out a little more than it was originally and we could of done with another stay-at-home D man. Hope we can either expect Waugh/Dimmen back or bring in a replacement of a similar style to Kudroc.

He shouldn't be as the IIHF will be aware of the signing and could imagine it'd be part of the paperwork to make sure he's registered for us in the super final as long as it's all valid.

Confirmed on EP he has left Ritten. www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=8713From their website: 'Jason Williams, who two weeks ago decisively contributed to the victory of the Rittner in the semi-final of the Continental Cup, does not return to the "Buam". The 36-year-old Canadian said today that President Thomas Rottensteiner will not be available for the Cup final in mid-January. "It's a pity that Jason Gomes gave a cancellation for the final of the Continental Cup, on the other hand Back, we will look for further reinforcements, "regrets Rottensteiner. Williams has completed a total of five games for Ritten. In the two championship games against Cortina and Lustenau he scored four goals (3 goals, 1 assist), in the three Continental Cup games he scored three goals and scored three goals. With six career points, the former Stanley Cup winner was even the scorer of the semi-final in Klobenstein. The Canadian striker scored 482 NHL games in his career and scored 95 goals and 135 assist. In 2003, he won the Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings. Last year he was under contract with the Cologne sharks.'
