i actually really liked the way the game flowed tonight, and probably going to get shot down for this but i think hicks did a good job. the game flowed quite well and yes he missed some blatant hooks etc by the devils but we also got away with murder. Hicks's refereeing philosophy is great, his talent less so. Im always happy when he is ref, because I know he wont go calling pointless penalties and take the limelight but hes still got a hell of a lot to learn. The icing against the devils at the end was bad, but so was the one which was called against us when it went through the crease. Has that rule changed or was it poor officiating? glad to hear im not the only one who thinks hicks isnt the spawn of satan,. i have to say panthers fans really do give the refs a hard time and mostly they deserve it but i am starting to see that the panthers do bring some of it on themselves. as i said good to see a more flowing game. with no one sided calling of play. he missed them and us fairly evenly i feel.

good game last night, exciting, and entertaining.
KSP, and Mann definately had a good game as did Bruce, however the best performance for me came from Stevie Lee!! he made a few errors but the majority of the time he was really good.... and he is not afraid to get involved in the dirty stuff.... love it! he is one for the future imo.

Lee - well said about Stevie Lee i think he is a class player and definately one for the future just seems to be so composed on the puck, he looks like he's been playing for us for years and he's only just turned 19!! and so has alot of time to develop and grow into one of the top brits!

This game turned out better than I expected after watching the shambles that was the Belfast game the night before. Especially as the players must have ended up getting to the arena just before the doors opened - I bet the devils team were in the arena way before the panthers team!
This time the team looked determined to win whatever the cost, and Brucie is just fantastic in games like that. I agree that Marc L. had a great game (I though he should have been MOM), our goals were superb and KSP was great. Even Hicks wasn't too bad tonight.
The atmosphere was ok ish for a sunday, we got a few chants going, but the devils supporters were in fine voice.
At least we are back at the top of the table, and hopefully can get two more points on wednesday. That was what infuriated me most about the Belfast game - I accept that we can't win all the time (begrudgingly) but it was a golden opportunity to build a bit of a buffer and they fluffed it.

Our guys didn't arrive until just after 3.30 (bit of a delay at B'Ham Airport) by which time the Devils were sat in the changing rooms, relaxing, sticks taped, blades sharpened. Bad preparation can obviously have a detrimental effect on a team but we rose above it albeit with a few hiccups along the way. Well done boys ;D

So what we have is a ref linked to an organization thats sells merchandise for a team that he officiates a game for? If you accept if that team does well = sells more kit = more profit for CH = massive conflict of interests! (though many on here are saying he was pretty good on the night)

no.
because CH are the suppliers for most clubs jersey's this season. there is no conflict of interest, you can only say this because of the website selling the Devils jersey's direct. is it not true that CH supply panthers too? so would it be safe to say that because they supply and gain profit from panthers too, that the ref has a massive conflict of interest from the Panthers side too?
Hold on, Cardiff and Panthers both have CH jersey's, right? doesnt that mean that the clubs were on a level playing ground and everything in your above post is irredentist and ridiculous?

buster - If you ever fancy getting in on the Hicks/CH/Cardiff conspiricy stuff make sure you purchase a tin foil hat to stop the lizard men reading your thoughts from high altitude whilst they are laying chem trails. Are you going tonight btw?

Are you going tonight btw? shocking stuff. who'd have thought that with a bit of research (instead of speculation) there would be a completely logical explanation? however, i have been told by a very reliable source that Tess is coming back for the playoffs and that Hicks was what flew into the towers on 9/11, rather than a plane. and yes. im going tonight. is this going to mean its going to be a "lets identify buster from afar" night? dont feel the need to approach me though, there are only a few people i have met from here that i dont consider to be social retards or just plain retards.
