I agree - good game. Panthers seemed to play well with few silly penalties, although the coach got his name on the list in the last few minutes which was rewarded with a goal by Cardiff.
Marc Levers had another good night - did he give Voth a shove in the ribs at one stage???
Mark Richardson (now devillish) looked totally knackered in the third period because he is getting a lot of ice time.
Hicks did his best to get on the score sheet for the Devils.
Was it just me or did the Arena seem a bit flat and a bit quieter in attendance than normal?
Points in the bag - bring on Wednesday!

Good game, thought we let them back in at 2-0 and 6-3, but we were good value for the result in the end. I thought Hicks called it OK. The 6th goal, with Bruce playing it to Jade after falling down, and Galbraith threading the needle to Mann, was superb.

however it was a good performance, some amazing passing in the zone at times

Quite right DanzP, our arena is lacking noise level, and has been for a few games now. Dont know why! So, I ask, "where are the "Panda" squad from last season, (think they sat in block 10). Now there chanting really got the supporters going. Created a better atmosphere, and were themselves, very entertaining.

Mr St Pierre anyone? after keeping the score of our loss last night down he again put in a good performance tonight, he seems to be growing slowly but surely in confidence, the goals they scored were mostly ones he had no chance with, Latulippe top cornering twice. I finally think we will keep a Goalie for a season.
The GWG was fantastic build up and finish, worthy of being the winner in any game
And Bruce "Scrappy Doo" Richardson, this guy fears nothing, though i doubt i would have liked to have seen him and Voth go.

Is that the first time that the ref has sponsored a game at the NIC? I believe Hicks is a director of CH Sports isnt he?
I think their online shop should include a rule book. The icing call at the end of the game was one of the worst I have ever seen.
We also seem to have the rule "Ignore everything for about five minutes, and then call the most innocous penalty you think that you saw"
On the whole, I think we controlled the game reasonably well. The two netminders had very good games. A couple of deflected goals for each team, but the goal everyone was talking about from Mann with assist from Galbraith and Richardson was superb.
So who are the only team unbeaten on their own ice this season? It's going to be a very close season, and if we can continue with our home form and pick up some road wins on the way, we are going to be up their challenging.

Apart from the very good 6th goal, how good was Levers' massive hip check?!!

Levers hip check had me smiling for a good 10 minutes! 6th goal was pretty neat, and Bruce is just non stop chipping away, did anyone else notice he seemed to be on the ice 2/3rds of the time last night?

It was a cracking hip check.
Great game of hockey but as some have said it seemed to me to be a little bit quiet in the arena last night, even with my daughter and the girl in the box next to us screaming their hearts out. Seemed the block 4 lads weren't in in their usual numbers.
Looking forward to Wednesday night though. If Panthers play like last night it could be a really good game again

i actually really liked the way the game flowed tonight, and probably going to get shot down for this but i think hicks did a good job. the game flowed quite well and yes he missed some blatant hooks etc by the devils but we also got away with murder. during a devils power play mann was hacking at the legs of a devils player and d'amour level one of there d men and nothing was called ( excuse me not remembering the names. was in agony most of the game ). had they have gone 5 on 3 i feel people would have been more than a little annoyed. all in all great result and i think the fact that it flowed that bit more helped the panthers. gascon for 1 seems to get very frustrated with the uk refs and there random calling of the play.

I have to say I agree - thought Hicks did ok; took a lot of abuse from the usual uneducated numpties sat behind me but compared to the Andy Carson Show and Darnell recently, thought Hicks did a half decent job. Yes he missed a few calls but you can't expect perfection from our refs can you? We made hard work of the win and felt sorry for KSP as 5 goals against seems hard on him as the D was quite poor last night. Thought Mann had his best game and deserved his MOM Voth seemed reasonably quiet i thought, bit strange given how much was riding on the result

Just an interesting point, not that I'm one for looking for conspiracy's etc - but the CH website does sell one teams Replica jerseys and merchandise directly - guess whos.... Yep Devils....

Hicks's refereeing philosophy is great, his talent less so. Im always happy when he is ref, because I know he wont go calling pointless penalties and take the limelight but hes still got a hell of a lot to learn. The icing against the devils at the end was bad, but so was the one which was called against us when it went through the crease. Has that rule changed or was it poor officiating?

Superb hip check from Levers got a great cheer from the crowd. Great move for the sixth, Wes Jarvis is still looking round for it. Thought Hicks had a reasonable game, missed stuff from both teams but let the game flow. We cut our lines to match Cardiff overplaying their top two lines. Their top line didn't get the free run they seemed to get the previous night with Birbraer being the most innocuous out the three.
