Pat Lefebvre is my favourite non Panther player ever. What a skilled guy, and only 5 feet 5 or so. He is still the highest points scorer ever in the QMJHL. He left junior to play a year in France (!?) then a year in Switzerland, the NA, then back to Switzerland, then Billingham, then, as said above, went back to NA, played for years with the LV Thunder in the old IHL, and eventually got signed in an injury crisis and called up to the Caps for 3 games in the show. After that he scored 114 points in the DEL in 2 seasons then went on to the twilight of his career mainly in Italy, mostly with Milan. I saw him play there a few years back and he was Hand-esque. Not as quick as before but just saw the ice on a different level to most. He played in Denamrk and Switzerland agin recently, but is now back in Italy, and still playing at 41 years old (!) according to eurohockey.net. Legend for me.
Bonus question, and it's an old one. PL is one of 4 players in modern british hockey who have played in the UK, then gone on to make their NHL debuts after leaving the UK. One is an ex-Panther, one did it 5 months ago. Name them.

Stef I know this isn't supposed to turn into a 'request' type thread but do you have any game shots from the Panthers Vs Fife game. The result was 5-5 and its the best game of hockey I think I have ever seen live. Sorry dont remember the season - Minimal penalties from what I can remember - Fife had their three Czech imports and I believe Andy Donald in net and we matched them play for play. The standing ovation for both teams at the end seemed to go on and on and on - happy days

Travis Brigley, Doug Doull,Jeff Ulmer? I dont know any ex panthers or anyone as recent as 5months ago but intrested to hear the answer Doug Doull for a point! Ex Storm, then Bruins and Caps. Brigley went back to the NHL after playing over here (non lock out season, not many have ever done that either) and Ulmer was class in a glass, but didn't quite make it back to the NHL. He's played in Minsk, Sweden and Switzerland this year. Wonder if he fancies a season or two in Nottimgham? The Panthers player went UK (non Panthers), NHL, then back to UK, and ended up at Panthers (I think). He's a one game wonder in the NHL. For the Oilers.

It scarcely does justice to what as you say was one of the great games. Wish there was a film of it. Lukac was great, wasn't he, but look at Paul Adey: 3+2 in our 5 goals. I too remember the teams skating round together to a standing ovation at the end.

early 90s were a bit of a blur for me - sean farley? Sean Farley. Soon christened "Charlie" by our mob. Well, it was in an age when the 2 Ronnies was a fairly contemporary TV show. Let's say he didn't set the world alight. Not even listed on hockeydb.com as ever having played for Panthers. 1 game with the Barons in 91/2. In an era where inmports had to do it all, 40+ minutes a night at least, he was an inexperienced college player, with no pro experience. Wayne Cowley is indeed the 3rd answer, UK, back to NA to be signed by the Oilers and play 1 game for the big club. Then he came back over here. We signed him as cover didn't we? Did he ever actually play a game, or did I miss that? For the last answer look on the same Storm team as Doull, and the Lightning roster this year. The player concerned is now back in Sweden, reason unknown to me, as he had a pretty good start to his NHL career. I'm so tragically geeky that I can remember that there is a 5th answer, which is a player who played briefly over here, went back to NA, signed a 2 way contract, and was called up to the big club for a week or so, but didn't actually dress for a game before being sent back down to the "A". Don't you remember some drivel in your life?

Is the 4th, final and newest answer to the first question. But not the question quoted. The clue on theis one is that the UK club is not a current EIHL team, and the NHL club concerned was the Avs. And he has a Parkhurst hockey card showing him in Avs colours.

9 February 1986. Moray lying down on the job. This was only a month after our game against Murrayfield had been abandoned with us leading 10-2. We won this one 9-2. Fab. Anyone name the referee? referee i think is dave large, remember it well one of my first games and the night before we had played dundee at home winning 7-5, half way through this game i think it was keyes (my alltime favourite hockey player) let a rip roaring pass down the ice unfortunately it was too high and smacked me on the left cheek at full pelt next thing i know wake up in the arms of a st johns man looking pale thinkin i was dead, jumped up put an ice pack on and watched rest of game (still got the puck too) so turned up at murrayfield game next night with black eye and frank bruno style bruise on cheek!! oh to be 12 again.....

Harsh, I think I know somewhere but it wont come to me. Off to research ;D I presume we are talking players not Coaches, so Kleinendorst doesnt count? Just one other note Iv found. Remember Kevin Brown? Good player for Storm, played NHL... was born in Birmingham! Now that would have been a good brit to pick up! So technically Manchester had 2 brits on their superstar roster, Brown and Weaver.

Indeed, players only so KK doesn't count. Nor does Mike Babcock, coach at the Wings and ex Whitley import. It's a tough question largely because i doubt you'll find anywhere except in the printed Hockey News (where I saw it) that he was called up, then re-assigned a week later. I only remember because they're the kind of pointless things my brain seems to fail to get rid of. The player in question is still playing, currently in Denmark. He signed for the UK club the year after playing the last of his 15 NHL games, having played those 15 with 3 different teams.

What happened to Jaroslav Sevcek, anyone know? Now that was a debut game. Off the plane that afternoon, thrown in the dressing room, and scored 1+3 (IIRC) and looked like he'd known Paul Adey since Playschool. Carried on playing 'til 2001 in Europe, when he was 36, so presumably retired?

Well, its been a nice trawl through the archives but I give up. I dont actually think I know and I need to explain to my boss why Iv done nothing for the past hour. Luckily I work for myself From my look through who it might be, Iv got 2 lines of players Id love to see play again (although judging by the recent comebacks weve seen from the BISL maybe they are best left in the past!) Gage Pietrangelo Scremin Doyle Jablonski Groleau Kenny Adam Smith kris Miller Roenick Askew Majic With St Pierre riding the pine in case we need a big goal

Askew especially an excellent player. First name is Eric. The UK team is M4 corridor based, playing in predominantly yellow. Former ISL league champions.

Congrats to Rob Jovanovich (our resident ex-Ashfield Islanders player here) who was right about Sean Farley being the man in the picture.Indeed Bobness....he lasted but a few games, got 15 points from 6 games (9+6) and no Pims. Your all better than me at remembering these lads, exept DaveE (you cheat ;D) . Good idea from TeddyC was it? About not re-heading/quoting the whole pic once they are up initially.Alot of pages to scroll through.. .
