They didnt play the national anthems at the Continental Cup tornament, so the Panthers fans sang the National anthem before the game.
A bg thumbs up to Simoes who took his helmet off whilst the National Anthem was sung, and at the end of the anthem, tapped his stick on the ice, and acknowledged the fans.
The guy is pure class.

Seems like Simoes is fast becoming a real fans favorite this season as you can tell he puts 100% into his game each week and by all accounts is a very nice guy off the ice too A real crowd pleaser and let's hope the season ends with a winners medal for him

Your not wrong there BBT he is a brilliant guy on and off the ice, always has time to talk to the fans and seems really comfortable with everyone. We need to try and find some music now to compliment the team individually, like a few years ago. Well done to all the team and fans that travelled, I hope you had a good weekend.

Does Steve Simoes agree with imperialisation is that why he sings god save the queen. I wasn't aware he did any singing. I think he was just showing respect and solidarity with the fans rather than trying to make a political statement. Please stop trying to wind people up davidheggs/Ski12/whatever your name is. ________________________________________________ Forum rules 3) No 'Trolling' ie comments not helpful to the debate but made in order to provoke an adverse reaction from other posters.

Right I'd just like to say that I've nothing to do with davidheggs at all, I don't know him, it's not the first time someone has said I'm another person, (also happened on THF once) it's possible that we have the same server (ie both civil servants)

Sat with simoes in the murphys bar last night, and he is the most awesome guy in the world. He really was a genuine bloke, and loves the respect he gets from the fans. He was so happy to be in nottingham, and for a change from most players, he was genuine about it.

My son Sam thinks Steve Simoes is the greatest and has done since the challenge game at Bracknell. He was sat near the penalty box as the players came off the ice at the interval when Steve attracted his attention and flipped the puck over the glass to him. Sam's face was a picture and his jersey name was decided there and then.

Ryan Shmyr also took his helmet off during the National Anthem on Sunday!! He was the only one I noticed who did!! Simoes is the greatest hockey player I've ever met, always has time for everyone!!

The "roster filler" who people doubted would be able to skated, turned into a complete legend in mid oct, surely not Seriously tho I agree 100%, for those who werent there we started singing the NA because they didnt play them and SS and RS stood still and waited for us to finish, no other teams did this and it was a real great moment! On a related note to ice tigers players there will be a certain player coming to coach checking at the end of the season before he leaves town

Can we sing the national anthem on a regular basis? Some of us already do! Me and mine always sing the anthem, generally above the chatter of the youngsters at the back of block 7......
