Ice Media Productions and 29 Sports can today announce that the Hanson Brothers Jeff, Steve, and Dave plus original Slapshot goalie Denis Lemieux and there 11 man squad will be playing the Basingstoke Bison at Basingstoke Arena November 8th 2006.
This is the first time the Hanson Brothers will travel to British soil and you can be a part of this historic event. Jeff, Steve and Dave will be joined by a cast and crew of crazy players from around North America to form Team Canada with the Hansons. Denis Lemieux, the infamous goaltender of Slapshot, Bob Probert of the Detroit Red Wings (3300 penalty minutes) and Stan Jonathan, Boston Bruins (751 penalty minutes), will also join the boys, as they wreck havoc on teams throughout Europe. Remember, this is the one and only chance to see these legends of film and hockey together in Britain!
The Hanson Brothers shot to international fame after appearing in the 1977 film ‘Slapshot’ starring Paul Newman. The film comedy tells the story of a troubled ice hockey team The Charleston Chiefs and was filmed in Johnstown Pennsylvania USA. The film was famous for it trio of goons – known as the Hanson Brothers – Jeff, Steve, and Dave. The Brothers were played in the film by Jeff Carlson, Steve Carlson, and David Hanson – all three were players for the Johnstown Jets at the time the film was made.

Everyone knows how the boys did in the movie Slap Shot, but did you know they all played professional hockey as well as being movie stars? Jeff Carlson played for 11 years, Steve Carlson played for 14 years and Dave Hanson played for 10 years. When these boys are on the ice they are playing for real and when you come to watch them, it is good old-time hockey.
