Ian regarding your comment in the other thread. Things dont get done we have lost to so many smaller teams this season. Im sure we never used to this often to the smaller teams with ellis in charge. Anyone second that?

It's sad that even finishing third is beyond us.

Disheartening but not the end of the world if we played ok. How people can be writing us off without being at the game is pretty bad.
To put it into context, Hull have only had 1 zero point weekend this year so far, they would have been very up for tonight and are no mugs anymore. That little battle for the playoff spot is really hotting up!

Cov v Shuff still in third, are they having a Ground Hog Period.
Sorry about breaking thread, but sounds like our game is not worth discussing. Anybody on here who actually attended our match, so we can hear how we played, although it doesn't sound well going on the score. Did Stringrays ice a lot of imports from the NHL or something.

Dissapointed that they could not build on last nights result, but its not the end of the world.
Bearing in mind plenty of posters already had us down to finish fourth, I cant quite see what the fuss is about.
Looking forward to hearing what the supporters who went to the game have to say.

We have all been to the home game no doubt and saw us lose to Hull at the NIC. Basically same story different day. Is ain't acceptable. Simple as that.

Just because some posters don't mind finishing third don't mean it's acceptable.

What a reaction to a game you lot haven't even seen! I expect a few negative comments from losing 6-4, but the comments in this and the other thread really are OTT.

Agreed, that is why I put, is there anyone out there who has been to the game. Nobody got a Blackberry in one hand, while driving down the M1, at night, with a wife who is possibly screaming about a waste of petrol.

Very much an aside but I think that finally puts the mathematical nail in our league coffin, doesn't it?

Yes it does number9.
Our remaining matches are effectively dead rubbers and I won't be forking out hard earned to watch them. Will save my money for the quarters instead.

Just home from the game and to be honest we should be ashamed, hell bent on revenge for Danny ok so Kev got his fight and won it. Not content with that we had to chase Kostadine round all night resulting in 2 needless penalties for Ruman.
The whole revenge thing should have been over 5 mins in when Kev and Kostandine went for it.
The forward's worked hard but we didn't work Cruickshank enough especially as he seemed to spend the whole game stretching out what looked to be the back injury. Apart from the spell where we went from 2-0 down to 2-3 up which was all of 8 minutes we never had any control of the game
As for the defence well what a waste of time we have a coach considered by many to be one of the best 2 way defencemen in the league yet we can't defend. We can't clear the zone, our defence parts like the red sea and our transition game was terrible tonight just that bloody long pass straight up the middle again. Poor old Robbo I really felt for him tonight.
Our special teams don't get me started 5 on 3 powerplay and couldn't score against one of the worst teams in the league and the penalty kill was generally awful FOR GOD SAKE CLEAR THE ZONE AND TAKE THE PRESSURE OFF.
Finally checking do we know what that is because Hull finished theirs all night and we didn't end of story
The ref will probably take the brunt of the abuse from those at the game and granted he was pretty bad but for both sides not just us.
We didn't deserve anything tonight plain and simple and I for one suggest that we work out what defensive systems are very very quickly or you can kiss the playoffs goodbye just like we have everything else this season.

Back from the game. What a disappointing result, another one we really should have won. Poor defense and being ineffective on the powerplay meant we lost to an inferior team. Highlight was Bergin pounding Kostadines face, follwed by chants of "how's your face Jason, how's your face". Coenen had a terrible game - example was Cook on the attack with Hull player (can't remember who) behind him with his stick wrapped round Cook, and Cook gets the penalty for hooking - bizarre!
