Just got back from tonight's charity fundraiser at The Strada restaurant - first such event I've been to in a long time.
Got to say I thoroughly enjoyed it - the food was great, though some people had to wait a very long time for it due to a computer glitch.
Great atmosphere, with the players working very hard serving the food and drinks - while still finding the time to mix with the fans, pose for photo's, sign autographs etc. My table was served by Johan Molin and Brendan Cooke, who both did a great job and were very friendly.
A good amount of money raised in the auction for the players' personalized aprons - Dan Tessier and Kevin Bergin's especially raised some serious bucks.
Thanks to everyone who organised it - a great night out.

We had a great night - the four of us on our table excellently looked after by Bruce, and by Scott who works there.
I think they raised in excess of £3,000 for the Nottinghashire Hospice, which is a tremendous achievement.
Sorry Jane about the apron - but you can borrow it for special occasions ;D
Oh - don't suppose anyone found my earring?

It's part of the Cornerhouse - where Sausage used to be (just round the corner from Jumpin' Jaks)

Really enjoyed the night. We were one of the lucky ones who got our food fairly quickly. Cook and Molin were lovely waiters. All the players looked to be having a good time. A lot of money raised for a good cause.

It feels wierd reading something on the panther's website without seeing the 'SEE YOU THERE' bit at the end.
Great job by all involved. Any chance you could all do a fundraiser for me as well...?

Why is it that even a Charity event for a good cause like a hospice on here can get hijacked by the usual cynical few to make jokes and disparaging remarks about!
For once why not just say well done to the org and fans for helping to raise this money for such a worthy cause and move on!
You will have plenty of far more worthy opportunities to hone your sarcasm skills in the future!

For once why not just say well done to the org and fans for helping to raise this money for such a worthy cause and move on! Well done Panthers, one and all, from Moran to the stick boy, we congratulate your charitable efforts. Now contend for that title, its been too long.

admittedly all this charity work is commendable, but (as an outsider, ie someone who isn't in the supporters club and doesn't go to these events) it seems to be the same people that go every time and they worship the ground the players walk on. Why does going to this event mean 'we worship the ground the players walk on'? It was advertised as a charity event - a meal out, which many would have anyway, plus a Panthers player as a waiter. There was an opportunity to buy raffle tickets (no pressure) and an opportunity to bid for aprons (no pressure). Buster - you didn't even go to the event, so why even bother to comment on something you haven't got the first idea about. Honestly, you'd find negativity in a Play Off victory

I am assuming this is going to be my last ever post on this forum so here goes... Charity by definition is defined as 'generous actions or donations to aid the poor, ill, or helpless'. Well done to the club, players, and anyone else responsible for raising funds for such a good cause.... fans and Panthers Players/m'ment/employees did this off their own backs to help people and it appears to have been very successful. This topic isn't remotely hockey related (as in performances on the ice) and therefore no critisism is justified, well not to normal human beings - so how come one person manages to critisize.....Well suprise suprise - Buster is here again with his wisdom. IMO your posts are just a juvanile attempt to raise your own profile so you can show every one how 'intelligent' you think you are. Your self obsession is embarrasing and the only reason you don't idolise the players is because your too busy loving yourself. You antagonise and disagree with everyones posts so you can place yourself in the spotlight to get people to notice you. I'm sick of you thrusting your drivell upon me, i've read your posts for a while and just about managed to resist repling, but without exeption youv'e annoyed me. You infect me with your Opinions, attack others, and then demand appologies and/or congratulations on how great and wise your insight is. IMO Blah Blah Blah..well i've had enough of people pusyfooting around and it's about time you stood back and realised how annoying (and usually wrong) you are. ... i assume you won't agree with this post, which once again proves how out of tune you are with the real world. Any reply will be ignored so fill your boots... a teacher god help us all (PS if you get bullied best go to the headmaster). Bye and probably for good.

Thread now re-instated after extensive pruning - for the benefit of people who have something constructive to say.
I really do have better things to do with my time than tidying up self opinionated arguments. I can see a case for introducing half-term a little early....
