KP has jumped ship. Word is that Moores has too.
The suggestion was that the powers that be were miffed with the public airing of their problem and were going to get rid of both.
Strauss nailed on as new skipper, but will be interesting to see who the new coach is.

apparently it was more he was told to go
he gave an ultimatum to the board to sack moores but they said they don't take orders from him and got rid of him

shame really and stupid great coach , great batsman needed them both for the ashes, getting the untested flowers now,
as for strauss the old school tie boys will be happy, middlesex player as captain keeps the old ***** happy in headquarters.

Great coach?, ridiculous comment, did well with Sussex but has taken England backwards after Duncan Fletcher.
If Strauss would have been in any sort of form when Vaughan resigned he would have been a certainty for the captaincy, todays events will be best for England in the long term.

How did he take us backwards we lost to india the aussies did that probably India are the best team in the world currently! Not with the rankings but just on current results! Kevin is too much of a rough diamond for the toffs in Lords in much the same way beefy was, Strauss fits the old school tie nicely spoken cardboard cutout guy with no personality, on his form until India he should not have been in the touring party, jobs for the boys, although Kevin was stupid enough to give them the chance to get rid of him! Also not even in the one day picture so do we go back to separate captains on a tour?

Forgetting the scrappy victories against a VERY weak NZ side and the comfortable series loss to SA last summer under Moores oldman or do you have a selective memory ? KP is much in the same mould as someone like Warne, great player but too single minded for captaincy.

we will have to agree to disagree there.i like captains who lead by example Kevin did that, also watched us destroy south africa here in the OD, as for India should have won the first! As far as strauss goes he will not lead by example because he is not even the best of our two openers, if pushed i would have had Freddie as captain, and you havn't address the one day problem now!
It just seems to me we have an ageing aussie mob coming over with a struggling captain and we go and shoot ourselves in the foot again!

We've had a poor year and Moores needed to leave, but this couldn't have happened at a more inopportune time. The Aussies may have 4 or 5 on the retiree list, but the newcomers are good and we need to be ready for them.
