No, he used to manage Derby, but he's Scottish.
He's a good manager, we've made a good decision here. Shame that many of the fans have made their mind up on him immediately and therefore he will find it difficult to ever succeed.

The Panthers don't do league titles. Not even Carlsberg can manage that!

Did we need a new thread? Especially since this is not a done deal.
Out of the vet candidates he's my preferred choice. Is this why we let Camp go? What's it mean for Earnie?
Any Forest fan who opposes it because he once managed Derby is an idiot for obvious reasons.

happy with this news, welcome on board Billy Got good championship experience ;D But we don't want to be in the championship do we? We want to be in the promised land - the league above. What's his record like there? An avaerage manager at best, but still an improvement on Calderwood. Just hope he IS given a bit of time, & plenty of money.

Looks like Billy Davies is to be the new manager of the reds. Bad news i think he's managed derby ! because there has never been a manger that came from derby that has taken forest to european and league success, has their? jesus, some people are thick.

Who the hell cares what his Premiership experience is? If he gets us there he can take us down if he likes, the money and status that would give us would be wonderful.

What experienced premiership manager is going to come to a in a relegation battle in the championship? Sodding no one.

If we ever make it back into the Premiership (not likely), surely the manager would like to keep us there? Slightly strange way of looking at things. Anyway, undecided on Davies (and no, it has nothing to do with him being from Derby - in fact, I don't mind that fact at all). I'll use a wait and see approach. If he can keep us from going down, and move us up the table, then that would be just fine with me.

It would be marvellous if he kept us up, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we came straight back down. Debts would be paid, good players would be obtained and we'd have a decent footing to go straight back and maybe stay there.
My point is that right now, 2 months of poor premiership performance is about as far back in my mind as possible.

The way it was originally worded was that you didn't mind if he took us into the Premiership with the sole purpose of taking us down. That's what got me ;D

Thing is though guys, as I said to Spence at the weekend, the key thing is Forest need to make a couple of changes so you need someone with the Championship contacts and you need some good early results so you need someone who knows how to turn a club around. Davies is absolutley perfect. People saying Nigel Clough etc are a long way off the mark, by the time hes settled into the Championship you could be down!
Lets hope its not another manager with a good rep who gets thrown on the pile from Forest, I feel sorry for the Brian Clough comparisons already (even if they are light hearted!)
