Wasn't sure if this should go in it's own thread or not (or even if this was the right forum), but as it spans both boxing and football . . .
Nigel Clough and Carl Froch will be signing copies of the new Nottingham Forest book "Wembley Again!" in the Victoria Centre this Tuesday (December 16th) from 12.30 to 1.30pm.

yeah i understand that, but book signings normally have people there who have something to do with the book itself and the content.
not just a famous fan.

perhaps they figure that froch is a big crowdpuller and media magnet than the very overweight kenny burns buster, purpose is to make money on the books by selling as many as possible, so it makes sense to me!

Tenuous link i give you, but does make good promotional sense, and money, publicity, profit rules out any need to be to precise with the people signing the books!

The publishers will sell more books, the book buyers will be able to get their copy signed by someone they want to get it signed by and (presumably) Froch is happy to do it (for whatever reason).
Everyone's a winner.
Why let it bug you?

Previous posters have pretty much (correctly) answered for me. Seliing books at the moment is a tough business and any publicity is to be grasped with two hands. Hopefully the combination of Carl and Nigel will help us move a few before Christmas. Even though Carl is getting all kinds of requests on his time now he was happy to appear, almost as a favour to us, but also because as a big Forest fan he really wanted to meet Nigel. Carl doesn't have a book of his own (yet ) and this gives fans the chance to get two signatures and meet a couple of local legends.
