Just have a look at our fixtures for December, i know its all doom and gloom at the minute and we all think we`ve blown it as far as the title goes, but look who we have to play this month and see where we`ll be (and more importantly, where THEY will all be) if we come out of it well. Everyone elses loss column is creeping up. It`s always darkest before the dawn. Have faith

im still fairly pleased with how this season is going. only four points off top. i think the only reason people start to worry is because we started so well. as a post said at the start of the season, there is no top four no more. they favourites, according to "experts" are blaze, giants and steelers. we have a rookie coach thats doing well in my opinion. did anyone really expect us to win the league this year? i think we are setting up nicely to be genuine contenders next year with a little bit of tweaking. but hey thats my view

I think that all we need is some fine tuning, whether it ll be sooner rather than later when that happens we will be on the right path!

We have spent as much as the other teams, if not more and there is no reason why we shouldn't we challenging for the league. And as for building, we have been building for the last few years. The way British hockey works means that your best players leave so there is no point building for more than a season.

I don't quite agree with that. The only reason the Brits don't go abroad is because there not good enough, if they were they'd be at the airport in a flash! How would you feel if Liverpool bought a rubbish player just so nobody tried to buy him every summer?

I think that if we can keep up steadily picking up the point we can stay in contention till the end as everyone seems to be dropping points at the moment.
We are capable of beating Coventry (at our place at least) and showed we can match Belfast (even though we lost, but they got all the bounces and we missed 3 or 4 open nets in the 2nd period) so if we can steel a few points against those guys then I dont see why we can't be up there still challenging going into the final 2 or 3 weeks of the season.
I said at the start of the season i'd be happy finishing within 8 points of the champions as Corey is a rookie coach and made big changes to the team and I stand by that.

as far as personnel are concerned we really do need a keeper that isnt a stopgap and low on confidence (big ask i know) we also need a defenceman who can actually defend rather than let players skate round him unchecked (however as this guy is the "enforcer" on the team) we also need to replace an underachieving forward with a power forward who can act as an enforcer too (a la belfast).. these changes imho will make us alot more competitive and put up a fight for the league..
As far as the league is concerned, yes teams are dropping the odd point to lower placed clubs however IMHO it isnt about them its about beating the series against the other top 3 clubs... if we win the series against the steelers for example we go 4 points above them... this is what has let us down so far this season and why we havent won the league in the past maybe up to 5 seasons... win these games imho we win the league simple as....

If Neilson can sort that out (currently 1-3-1 against those 3 this season in the league - not great) then we've still got a chance.

How is that not challenging? Maybe I didn't make my post clear. Of course we are challenging now and are actually in a decent position. My point was that I don't get how any of our fans can say "we are building and therefore I don't expect us to win the league". We are one of the biggest spenders in the league with the best facility and the best perks for players in the league. If we don't win the league, it is a failure by Corey as he has been given all the resources to do it, and he knows that himself. Next season we'll probably be without Tessier, Galbraith, Ndur, Robinson, Cook at least so it will be a new team all over again! Will we give him another year to build with his new team ??

My worry is that Corey is giving the impression that there isnt a major problem within the D.

no offence to adam goodridge but i think we need someone on the bench that can point out the problems in the game and point them in the right direction
