Someone asked in one of the other threads (the Phoenix post-game thread, I think - not sure) when was the last time that the Panthers had two consecutive four-point weekends. Seeing as I'm a bit of an insomniac these days, I have a fair bit of time on my hands... I got curious and started trawling through the stats (source: Pete Walch's most excellent stats page - homepage.ntlworld.com/peter.walch) The answer was a bit of a surprise... and not a good one! Counting only weekends with back-to-back league games, the last time we had two consecutive 4-pointers was early on in the 2004-05 season! Sat Nov 6th - HOME to Basingstoke Bison - won 4-1 Sun Nov 7th - AWAY to Basingstoke Bison - won 3-0 Sat Nov 13th - AWAY to Belfast Giants - won 4-2 Sun Nov 14th - HOME to Fife Flyers - won 5-2 That last game was 'Crossover Cup', but IIRC it did count as a league game. If you don't consider that to be a valid four-pointer due to the crossover game... well, you actually don't have much further back to go - there were two consecutive 4-pointers in February and March of the 2003-04 season. But even so... Bit scary that, isn't it? (OK, this actually looks worse than it really is... there have been a fair few more recent runs of 4 or more consecutive wins with various numbers of days seperating the games. But there's something special about the four-pointer weekend)

We're the Panthers, we don't do four-point weekends. It's like quacamole, it sounds lovely and we know most people have tried it, a lot love it and have it regularily but we had it once or twice and aren't interested in that foreign muck.

Isn't it funny, and I think a bit sad, how something so simple as guacamole speaks of your class? Apparently knowing the difference between guacamole and mushy peas by sight alone tells people what social class you belong to. Wasn't it Peter Mandleson who made that gaff in the chippy up north somewhere and all hell broke lose? what a sad enditment on our country. Congrats on your run of form, and sorry for being OT.

According to today's NEP, the last time we did consecutive four-pointers prior to the ones Shaggy mentions was way back in 1994.

Does it have to be a weekend? Yet these seem to be also weekend dates.

Hey - it's just an intellectual exercise... two back-to-back four-pointer weekends... something apparently pretty rare, and consequently very pleasant to see.
No biggie...

Sorry.
I dived in without realising it was TWO back to backs reffered to. Simply got it wrong....but still shows how rare back to backs are anyway. Thus, as you say, TWO double wins is quite a good start for Corey.
