Jesus, you would have thought they'd have given them mercy. 82-0 - I think I would have stopped at 10.
1 word - OUCH
Just looked at the stats - in the last 3 mins of the game Slovakia had 2 penalty shots and 2 empty netters. Surprised it took the Bulgarians that long to give up.
There was also 2 match penalties 10 secs from the end, 1 on each side.

Yeah cause at 80-0 with a minute left the draw is there for the taking, why on earth pull your netminder at that score!!!

who are Slovakia's best and well known ice hockey players, both current and retired? I think the biggest Slovak players at the mo are Marian Hossa, Ladislav Nagy, Miroslav Satan, Marian Gaborik. Old school the only one I know of is Stan Mikita. If you really wanna know about Slovak hockey, have a word with Martinski83. He even knows a few Slovak players Oh and don't forget the Slovakian Express Matus Petricko!

I wonder if there were any bulgarian fans at the game, and if they stayed till the end. The fans certainly got their moneys worth in terms of goals. Probably about 1 Koruna (around 3 pence) per goal , working out at - very loosely?

According to a post on THF, Bulgaria only have 30-something female hockey players, so it's an achievement for them to get a squad to compete.

I think one of them played in germany or france last season or season before and it's a goalie but a name doesnt spring to mind.

I notice that the bulgarian starting netminder was chased from the game @56.30. Jusy ater conceeding her 77th goal!! On a more neutral note there is a link to a Bulgarian news agency which gives a brief resumee of the tournament. You will not that they also lost 41 - 0 to Italy, 39 - 0 to Latvia and 30 -1 to Croatia. Yes they have managed a goal at least to celebrate. Starting netminder Lyubomira Shosheva made a total of 200 saves from 367 shots and the back up is a 16 year old girl. Still kudos to them for assembling a team and taking part in the true Olympic spirit.
