This thread has been started to keep you all up to date with efforts to help save the Telford Tigers. Please do not use it for anything else, there is another thread available for all discussion on other matters arising from this sad situation. Below is the latest (Of many) press release from the club and details of how you can help. Donation can be made on the Tigers home page via the paypal link. It is hoped further news will follow shortly in regard to further activities. Thank you for any help you can offer. I am told that the account connected to the paypal link is ring-fenced, the minute is becomes clear that a team is unsustainable for this year all money will be refunded. Every penny counts, should you donate you can be assured that you are having a DIRECT influence on the future of this great club. Thanx. Press release >>HERE<<

Guys, Begging isnt something i have ever done, unless its trying to get ted to buy a pint at the bar!!! But desperate times call for desperate measures, and unless we can hit our target by tuesday, the tigers will be no more. All i ask is that if you can spare the cost of a couple of pints, then please do, it will help secure the future of a team. We ask all donations to be made via paypall on the tigers site www.telfordtigers.co.uk, this way all donations are traceable, and if the team are to fold, all donations will be refunded. The monies go into an account that will not be touched until a time as when we know the tigers will be icing this season... Thank you to all of you

I dont mean to sound pessimistic.... but might bank holiday not delay some things slightly? I dont know how paypal works.... but it would be tight to get to Telfords account for Tuesday wouldnt it? Means if you plan on doing it, do it ASAP!!! as for those pints I have avoided.... I suppose I could donate that Mods, couldnt this be Sticky-ed

with paypall the donation will show immediatly. Funds my not be avaliable straight away, but on tuesday morning, we will know how much has been pledged through the paypall system.
Just so everyone knows, and so that everyone can see this is do-able, last night we had pledges of just under half the amount already, this was before the paypal thing kicked off... this really is do-able, but needs your help. Please....

Guys.... Im shattered so im gonna make this post brief, been in telford all day at the crisis meeting. there is an update on the Tigers web page TigersJust at the crisis meeting alone we got 6.5k and the paypal donations are well over the 1.5k mark... You have all been fantastic, and we would not be anywhere near the sum of money we have at the minute if it wasnt for the support of hockey fans around the country. Thank you so so much and please keep spreading the word! Just think of all the good karma this will have for the Panthers.

do you need to raise 30k before the season starts or can you not just try and go month by month?
you know try and raise bits here and there rather than the full amount now?

Can we not organise something for open training on Friday ??
A bucket collection would be easy enough if we got the clubs approval.
I'd be happy to help.

Guys,
Sorry i havent posted yet today, but this doesnt mean i havent been doing anything.
I am absolutly overcome with the amount of support people have given us... its suprised me beyond belief. Thursday night we were looking at folding, but thanks to the efforts of hockey fans up and down the country we are very very close to salvaging this mess.... thank you all so much, and it makes me very very proud to be a panther when so much of the support has come from you guys. It warms me when the whole elite league has put so much into this effort, and the input of Nemesis is going to be almost impossible to repay and i cant keep saying thank you to him enough.
We need a little more, but the amount raised already is astonishing. All i can ask is keep spreading the word.
This also got me thinking about something else, i would like to do a big sponsor thing to raise funds for just these kind of events, just like what the rink rush guys did. I was thinking of something along the lines of a duo from every rink around the country doing a tag team 24 hour skate-a-thon. Just wanted people thoughts....

Hows about we get a team of say 30/40 rec players together and play a team of 30/40 or so from Telford in a sponsored rec game.........for 24/48 hours. You would need the numbers to make it posible. 25 on each side playing, 10 eating and refreshing, 5 short sleeping.
I could probabley get IS to come on board for the ice, may only cost the overheads.
