Now, i may have grabbed the wrong end of the stick here but did i read correctly that buying a season ticket didn't get you into any of the Hull matches? If so, that is a disgrace. As if you spend all that money on a season ticket and don't even get every game?

Yup us Season Ticket holders have to pay for the 3 home Hull games - thanks Panthers - your generosity knows no beginings! The rationale behind this is, as I understand it, is that we applied for STs before the Elite league finally accepted Hull into the fold, so we weren't applying for Hull's games or something???!. I imagine most of us ST holders just won't go to all the home Hull games Am still hopeful that Panthers will see error of their ways and allow us to have all Home league game on the Season Ticket.

That really is no excuse. For all the people who have spent thousands on the club over the years, is it really too much to just give them a few free games? After all, you seem delighted to give free tickets away to everyone else....

Correct, the season ticket doesn't get us into the Hull matches.... but on simple mathematics, I think you're being a bit harsh calling it a 'disgrace'.
Panthers season tickets have, for years, covered 25 matches. For this season (before Hull came in) we were looking at 24 home matches, and they announced that the season ticket would cover just that - 24 matches. A sort of semi-hidden price rise (without putting up the cover price) - not too happy about that, but prices don't stay the same forever do they? (unfortunately...)
Then Hull came in and added another 3 home games.
Now I too would obviously like to have 27 matches on my ST and not 24 (saves me some cash) - but I think it's a bit unrealistic to expect ANY club to just hand over 3 matches free of charge!
So the Hull games - the 'extra' ones - aren't on the ST. I'm not exactly jumping for joy about that, but being brutally honest - in their place, I'd do just the same.
Now I believe that they said that ST holders would get some sort of discount off the Hull games, which sounds fair enough to me... I'd be a bit annoyed if they didn't come through for us on that one.

Fair points Shag, but it would be excellent PR for the club to thank the ST holders for once and give them something back. As i say, they don't have a problem giving free tickets to people who don't really care about the game so why not the ones who have been the life-blood of this side for years? It's only three games for lords sake.

It's only three games for lords sake. Yes it is and a few years ago (01-02?) with a 25 game minimum season ticket we got around 27. We also got (was it that season or the next) tickets to some non-league (was it the Russian ones?) games for £5. Panthers have reduced their minimum and aren't giving the same good deals that ST holders used to get. There's not even a particularly good saving in being a gold ST holder compared to cash sales at the ticket office. The main reason I have one is that I live and work over 15 miles away and I like my seat. On the other hand ST prices have been kept fairly constant since the NIC opened so I guess they're now trying to offset that loss in other ways.. I'll go to the Hull games if it's convenient in terms of other things. I won't if it's not. Same as the play-offs. I keep hoping they swap one of the Hull games with an ST game in early December when I'm likely to be away anyway!

It's only three games for lords sake. 3 games multiplied by how many hundreds at £13, £15 etc? That's an awful lot of cash not coming into the coffers to cover the costs of the extra games. Sure, maybe Neil Black could afford it (I really don't know) - but viewed dispassionately... why should he? Would you, in the same position? I sure as hell wouldn't. Sure - on one level, I'm ticked off that I'm having to pay for 3 more games... but that's life - as I always say, "Life's a female dog and the universe doesn't care". Oh - and the Panthers HAVE given us extra games on the season ticket in previous years - freebies to thank the ST holders for their support. On one hand, you could say that this sets a precedent... but can we honestly EXPECT freebies like that? I wish life was like that.... BTW - how many free tickets do the Panthers actually give away? Granted, I'm no insider - I don't know for certain the various ins and outs of the business.... but I was always under the impression that the Panthers didn't hand out freebies in any great number (if someone knows otherwise - please feel free to correct me).

Sounds like another case of season ticket holders wanting something for nothing to me. You're getting (at least) what you payed for. I don't see how the club have behaved disgracefully here at all.

true shaggy but if the rumours are true (and NB wouldnt confirm or deny) that panthers actually made money in the very expensive ISL era then surely with a very much reduced wage bill for the past few years and other costs remaining fairly constant the actually amount of money that the panthers have generated would in fact increase in real terms. I am sorry if this isnt the case but it always seems to be the bottom line with the panthers and yet again the fans are the ones who suffer and are expected to dip into their very deep pockets already. As a non season ticket holder this year prices yet again have been put up with very little as far as justifying costs to show for it, i feels (well it does to me anyway) that the panthers have just become ever more greedy...

It's just business. We're paying for a product. As with any other product, the price isn't determined by production costs, it's determined by what people will pay for it. As a non season ticket holder this year prices yet again have been put up with very little as far as justifying costs to show for it, i feels (well it does to me anyway) that the panthers have just become ever more greedy... I'm sure I paid the same (£15) for my ticket to last night's game that I paid to sit in the same block 4+ years ago. And that's despite inflation of roughly 3% a year in that time.

If you're after a deal on the 'Ull games, then we've (Steelers) have been offered the 3 Hull games for £30, £21 if your a student, and I can't remember the childrens costs.
So I would expect yours to be around the same as that, maybe.

Another reason why the 60th Anniversary game is a league match against Hull? Might get a few more payers for a mid-week game. Can't fault their business sense.
