i've played the demo of both this years games now. 2k9 was poor. wasn't bringing much new to the genre and the camera angle was rubbish. 09 has kept the same simple controls as last year, the demo has a fair amount to it (lot more than just one period) and the gameplay is immense. defo 09 for me this year!!!

The demo's really impressive, especially the Be a Pro mode centering with crosby! defense wise the game is a big upgrade on 08 and looks to be awesome online in the EASHL, which hopefully all you 360 guys will play.

the be a pro mode will take some getting used to ;D yep it will, by the looks of the first few games i had on there the likes of datsuyk, hossa and chelios just wernt on the same wavelength as me! i was pretty happy with my first game as "a pro" scoring 1+1 and gettin A, A, B in the grades, a good start for a legendary career me thinks ;D

You can sign me up for the xbox league and definately the MMO too. Quite liked playing centre and am keen to try defence when I get the game proper, but will play where needed on a game by game basis, a bit of variety is the best way to keep it interesting for me I think.
My username is pedro37
Hope to see you online in a weeks time.

Reckon it'd be worth seeing if we could get some teams going from other hockey forums? Anyone know if we can create our own leagues of the MMO teams?

RS17, are you in the PS3, 360, or both leagues? You've put your name down for both.

xbox only. Changed my mind as the 360 seems more popular on here, plus my ps3 has decided give up and die.

Like we should get a team of all our best players and challenge people on Stealer chat. Well, That's if they have a team. Oh, We also going to make a league as well as the MMO game?

Depends if theyve got 3 teams too. If not, make the best we can, all this talk of giving everyone equal icetime grates on me All these guys like Heja and Rob can have an "also ran" team, leaving me and other all stars to take on the rest of the league! On a serious note though, do you need to have a goalie for this? If so, do we have one?

Im all for getting a practiced team with designated positions together for if we play a serious game but im also hoping for more casual ones where you just chose whatever position you feel like at the time or rotate for the centre spot/fill the net (if noone wants it). Im also assuming teams can be made of whoever is online on a particular night?
Out of interest, do we have any keepers for the xbox side?

I think you can play with whoever is online at the time, with a minimum of 3 human players. Any other positions are AI-controlled. I don't know how good/bad the AI controlled ones will be. So if there isn't a nettie on a particular night then can still play.
I think the main thing is just that its casual play whoever whenever in whatever position. As much fun as doing serious gaming maybe, realistically it'd prob be a challenge getting everyone online at a particular time.

Us PS3 lot are down to just a team Since when have you had a PS3? Got one in March. I prefer it for sports games. 360 is better for shooters. I admit, i mainly got it due to region free gaming, so I could pick up MLB the show, from Canada.

Still noone wanting to be the keeper then? I will practice it and be willing to do the duty on a rotational system if needed, or can we just leave it to the CPU? Anyone know if it will be intentionally be made poor to encourage true 6 on 6?
Out of interest, Weaz3l, are you the same weazel from the days of quake on Proweb?
