ok i can understand your gloryhunter accusations after all the chelsea fanbase is full of exfulham. brentford, palace, spurs. arsenal. west ham fans , but in 1959 liverpool were playing in a midden and definately living in the shadow of everton, this is when i started supporting liverpool, so although seen lots of glory since cannot really put me in your very narrow gloryhunters bracket can you!

Any particular reason why you picked Liverpool over the rest of the other teams?

The Panthers don't do league titles. Not even Carlsberg can manage that!

What a lot of nonsense! I was born and bred in Nottingham. I supported Forest as a boy and they became European champions - twice! I suppose there were a few people that watched, enjoyed and even supported Forest then who weren't from Nottingham.
But I moved home in my mid-thirties. Now I follow Bayern Munich. Why? Well I can only say they play in red and I always liked Franz Beckenbauer. Yes, they are also the best. But so what? People can support whoever they like for whatever reason they like. There is no rule says you have to be born in the place or live there. It's just snobbery.
I also support Hannover Scorpions ice hockey team and follow the Avs in the NHL. Am I not a real fan of these teams? My past trip to Denver and my journeys around Germany, and my bank balance, beg to differ with you.
So if you want to support the bottom team in the Nottingham Pork Butchers league go ahead. I won't berate you for it. But let others support who they like for whatever reason they like. Life is too short!!!!

My mate has been a Man City fan since he was a child and got a bit of stick (especially when they went through that rough patch) but now he's loving it!

My mate has been a Man City fan since he was a child and got a bit of stick (especially when they went through that rough patch) but now he's loving it! I have been a City fan since 1968 - lad I sat next to at school was a City fan, so I went for them as well - and I've stuck with them for 40 years through thick and thin (mostly thin!). I too have had some stick - FA cup defeats at Halifax and Shrewsbury, 3rd tier football, and the worst of the lot, standing behind the goal at the Bridgford End in a 1974 FA Cup tie when Duncan McKenzie led Mike Doyle a merry dance and had Forest 3-0 up in 20 minutes! What has happened this week is fantastic - although I do have reservations about the long term effect of foreign ownership on the opportunities for up and coming home grown players to develop, and on our national team; but even current and recent international players don't seem bothered about England now - namely Gerrard and Carragher. Come on the Blues!!

The reason my mate's a City fan is that his dad is, but to be fair he's stuck with them. They only make one or two games but they try. Just read on BBC News that they plan to bid £135m for Ronaldo as well lol, and the owners have said they'd allow bids of £80m each for Kaka and Messi! Not sure if this is just speculation but that's insane

I support Mansfield Town always have done since the age of 8 the reason being is because it was the first team my dad took me to see. Must admit though since it is £18 to get in after being relegated i have abandoned the footie and decided to go to the ice hockey instead. However i would never change my colours and will still go to the odd games when i can afford to.
We could be in serious trouble though this week and have some points deducted for playing a ineligible player! 10 points we think would be the maximum punishment.
It is very sad though seeing young kids wearing Man utd and Arsenal shirts though when they haven't even been to a game to watch them play.

I'm a Forest fan, and always have been. I'm 19 but I even got stick at school for supporting my local team because they just weren't a recognised side in the Premiership. I remember my secondary school full of United, Arsenal and Liverpool fans taking the mick whenever I shared with them that I was off to watch a Forest match.
Unfortunately, this is just the thing to do and many people will follow a team in the top flight over their local team
