Just heard they will start league 2 this season on -30! I know the way they handled themselves last season was poor but practically condemning them to the conference before theyve kicked a ball isnt going to help!
Makes Leeds's 10 points (or was it 15?)look lenient

Does anyone know why Luton have been given a 20 point deduction for the same thing that Leeds only got 15 for?

I know it's only July but can I take this opportunity to Congratulate Notts County on their survival in League 2. It looked like a tough season ahead, but given a 30 point deduction to Luton Town I think you can safely assume that you're not going down this season. There's another space we could fill yet.

Just reading the article on bbc sport website, the other 20 point haven't actually been confirmed as of yet, so as it stands they are only minus 10. And we all know what the F.A is like!

Leeds had 25 points in total taken off them, 10 on the last day of the season and then -15 for the start of the campaign
come on its only luton, give them 50 point reduction

You think Luton are screwed; pre-season starts tomorrow and Mansfield have only got 8 players

So in other words, Leeds got off lightly?

I think they brought in this minus 20 now they've actually written down what they did Leeds for, who knows, if Leeds hadn't of appealed Luton may have only got minus 15 for the failure to exit a CVA too!!!!

So in other words, Leeds got off lightly? How do you work that one out? If Leeds were on a level playing field they would have gone up automatically in 2nd place giving Forest another opportunity to choke in the play-offs. Be grateful for how things panned out. Could have been another season in League 1. Before I get mugged Leeds did the crime and have now done the time. Time to move on I think. Getting back on thread Luton will now have to produce play-off standard football to stand a chance of survival. It is not impossible but it will be a mammoth task for them.

The reason Luton got an extra 5 points ontop of what leeds did is because this is 3 times in 3 years Luton have had new owners due to miss management.
I feel for them and hope they survive.
In my mind though they would probably be better off dying as a club and coming back in lower divisions and working their way back from there.

Or Leeds would never have started the season so hot as they would never have had the fire beneath them. I know Leeds fans now wonder if that might have been the case. Still, Notts can be grateful that Luton will probably fill a relegation berth and that the rules were not in place when they went in to admin.

Still, Notts can be grateful that Luton will probably fill a relegation berth and that the rules were not in place when they went in to admin. We would rather have not gone into admin at all. The problems we had were fundamental, club threatening problems. Not overspending, not trying to be bigger than we are, genuine deep down problems which had been eating away at the club for a while. As far as I can see Luton have had bad management, Leeds had "we are better than this" syndrome and a lot of other clubs are in trouble because of bad management from the top. One thing that makes me laugh is teams still claim they are too good for divisions or too good to go down. Leeds were in europe for a season, so were Forest but so what? Forest were put out of the playoffs last season by a club I grew up thinking were never going to be anything other than non league, it counts for nothing. Man City went down to the third tier but they just carried on working hard and pulling together and now they are a big club again. Newcastle had a few shakey years and now they are trying to push the top4 (Supposedly). Its not the position you are in that is the problem, its how you deal with it. Luton can still stay up, if they get on and deal with it. Its not hard to keep out of the bottom2, there will 2 teams coming up who could go straight back down and teams like Chester,Accrington etc are still going to be fighting for their lives. If Luton get on with the task in hand and dont spend their efforts appealing, going through court etc they will be fine

They can still survive, but it's an absolutely mammoth task for them. Seems they lost their first pre-season friendly 4-1 to Hitchin last night though...

Not overspending, not trying to be bigger than we are, genuine deep down problems which had been eating away at the club for a while. What sort of problems? Thats a long story for another day! People within the club not pulling in the same direction is the polite way of putting the fundamental problem which had started the major problems. Rotherham have been offered the chance to replace their club with a new "Rotherham UTD fc" and play out of Don valley stadium. The only problem is they will start on -17 points but its either that or fold by the looks of it! So these clubs who are worried about relegation can breathe a little easier. Bournemouths future still undecided, 2 days before kick off!

I think Rotherham are now due to start with the 17-point deduction. Still playing in Sheffield like you say as well Rich.

If Luton go down and a team has a real tough season Rotherham can pull out of it. I still think there could be more teams in trouble yet!

Oh yeah 17-points is definitely do-able. Not an easy task at all though! Haven't Rotherham had points deducted before as well?
