At the risk of being called a grumpy old git, what the hell is wrong with having the shirts made in the UK, and then we wouldn't have problems with Customs log-jams!! The only reason they are having them produced in some sweatshop in the Far East is that someone, either the suppliers or the Panthers, or both, stand to make much greater profits from their sale to the fanbase. The answer is simple - Buy British and order earlier!

The answer is simple - Buy British and order earlier! I think you'll find one point of a business is to maximise profitability by lowering costs. That's just good business sense. As to your second point...I'd rather wait than have to have something like a Rhino shirt.

This is the same problem the Steelers have had, and I would guess anyone who has used CH Sports for the jerseys.

Which player are you having on your new Panthers shirt Helen? I'm not having a P a n t h e r s jersey, thank god I'm not having a Steelers one either. They are the Philly Flyers in disguise. I've sponsored Davey Lawrences warm up jersey (least I know it's seen some action, lol), so I will get that at the end of the season. Until then, I have other jerseys to wear

It doesnt look very professional tho going through this every year. The fact the design was only released 2weeks before season start suggests to me that the problem is with the designers more than anything else

Shirts are proving a nightmare everywhere this year it seems, especialy for CH customers. Ironic really, Rhino's new fabric and design this year is far and away the best I have seen and far superior to CH's; but nobody is using them owing to previous expieriences. Steelers sent out an SOS for their German shirts and Rhino produced, in full, on time!!! You just can't win some times. It may also be worth pointing out that CH don't actualy make shirts, they contract out; and guess who one of the companies they use are? I will give you a clue, it begins with R

I have no idea when the last of the sponsors were signed though, so don't know what impact they'd have had (if any).

I did think that but then apparently they missed sponsors off the final designs etc... just seems like a clown act from the beginning. Plus that only explains this year, not the last 2or3

I would think there's a fair chance that the late signing of bmiBaby, and their requirement to be on the Elite League logo means that the EIHL patches on each shirt will have to be done/redone/replaced. Sheilas shirts are late too. For the very same reason? Has any team got theirs yet?

At this rate they will make great Xmas Prezzies and the really daft thing is that many of us who want one for an xmas pressie will again have to ask for them to be bought early as soon as they arrive because for the past three years Pantehrs have never ordered enough or shown themselves capable of getting re-supplies in without big gaps in availablility particularly near xmas. Every year the jerseys get held up at customs on at least one order. The obvious answer is to order them earlier. If they're worried about sponsor patches order the jerseys ealry leaving suitable spaces for the sponsors and the patches can be sewn on in the Uk.

i thought shuff were selling theres, could be wrong though. They had about 100 that came through by last weekend, these have been sold, but there was about 900 incl the game shirts in customs over the weekend, hence why the SOS went out to Rhino for the German Shirts.

Sounds expensive to me that does - re-handling the shirts at UK labour rates would be prohibitive I think. Late arrival and customs problems seem to be traditional with hockey shirts in the UK - become part of the close season entertainment It comes down to economics though and having the shirts made in the Far East tends to be the most attractive option. The sponsorship logos are the most likely cause of delays - perhaps we should go back to having "plain" shirts without the logos.....

I can see the tussle at the tills now arguing over the last replica shirt sowed by Matt Myers! Bloody waste of tax payers money that University education was. You don't grow shirts from seeds, they're manufactured. You've been in the US for too long. The past participle is also sewn or sown.

Bottom line is the season is upon us and once again no shirts. Very poor show, it's not as if this is the first time. Somebody needs to get their finger out.
