THE FUTURE’S BRIGHT….THE FUTURE’S HEADING FOR ORANGEVILLEThe GMB Nottingham Panthers are sending three young players to Canada for intensive summer training. Two more can’t make the trip but will be on personal training programmes here in the UK. <<link>>

Moving on from the comments in the junior development thread.... not meaning to start the debate here again... really I dont!!!.... that shows a good attitude of the club linking with the juniors that doesnt just meant they get ice time in EIHL games!

Must say that I am pleasantly surprised and extremely impressed. These youngsters are the future of Nottingham ice hockey and this is definitely a big step in the right direction. Well done Corey.

To me, this is more to do with giving them the chance to attend the camp financially rather than anything to do with the relative levels of development of the players involved. Most pro players (from the top down) go to training and conditioning camp in the summer, so I doubt we should see being invited as a question mark over Joe Graham's ability at all.

Looks like a sensible way of developing the younger domestic players to me.

My journalistic interest was piqued when I found out who owned the hockey school, thats all I cant seem to find a class they would fit into though

I knew about this at the Lions end of season party a few weeks ago - think it's a fantastic opportunity for Rob, Sam & Tom.
I hope that they get the chance to re-pay the Panthers despite what some supporters might think about their signings.

wasnt it said when CN first came to us that part of his wages was on the fact that everyone was signed up to his fitness school thingy?
I dont think there really is a wagecap issue as CN is coach and only a portion goes towards the cap anyway isnt it?

The best thing about the article? CN saying 'party-free'. At last, a coach who thinks about hockey first and beer second. As many of you will know, that's something I've been banging on about for forever!
Everything I've heard from CN so far has been good. Although I stuck by my decision not to renew my season ticket, had I succumbed and splashed the cash, I really wouldn't be disappointed right now.
All good stuff.
