Pidge, don't count your chickens, YORKSHIRE have lodged an appeal.
I think they have phoned Dave Simms to get the rule book applying to Yorkshire teams. ;D

Well yorkshire have been reinstated, and the result against Notts stands.................. But they have also been fined 2 points, which means Glamorgan now go through

It really is a right mess. Yorks were never going to get back into the competition, so now they have screwed us over as well.
It does now set a dangerous precedent for future 20/20 games.

*shrug* with the tinted specs off for a few mins it looks like the fairest outcome to me. It's not like Notts really earned a place in the next round is it?! If Yorks had played a 17 year old rookie they'd have still won that game ... oh wait

It does now set a dangerous precedent for future 20/20 games. The precedent being that the rules should be followed? Lesson learned for Yorks - only field eligible players. Lesson learned for Notts - play better cricket.

Notts have been screwed over. It's a joke decision. The loser should always receive the points in situations like that.

In the hockey analogy you are found to be in technical breaches of regulations and the match in question is forfeit with a 5-0 win awarded to the opposition. Quite frankly to reinstate Yorks but still take the points away and send them into space is totally illogical and not very satisfactory. Notts were clearly the team "wronged" so to speak as the regulations were breached specifically for a match against us so we should stand to receive the points not see them vanish into thin air and a random third party benefit instead, Glamorgan must think it's Christmas.

There is no way on earth that you can say the player did not influence the result, even with him having below average bowling figures. The player in question was involved in the none-run out of Adam Voges. If Voges had been run out Cairns would have come in earlier and the rest of the game would have been different (Not saying better in Notts favour, but who knows what Cairns may have gone on to do against different bowlers). Even by fielding the ball you are influencing the game as the batsmen may get one more or one less run, and that would put someone else on strike.
Whilst people say Notts did not deserve to go through because they lost to Derbyshire and Leicestershire, did Glamorgan deserve to go through?
Absolutely done over by the ECB.
I think last nights performance shows they are on a mission.

It makes no difference what impact a player has on a game. The oppo should get the W.
It'd be 3-0 in football.
How crazy to have TWO T20 comps from 2010. If you're launching an EPL then kill the T20 Cup.
20 teams is also too many. The IPL has 8 which concentrates the talent. Nuts.

This forum is rather erratic on its enforcement of the 'rules'.

This forum is rather erratic on its enforcement of the 'rules'. IIRC there were about 4 words in your post and 2 of them were swear words. Any time I see a post like that it gets deleted. I don't always have time to read everything so sometimes something will slip through the net. You've been using this forum long enough, the rules are clear, if you make posts like that you stand a good chance of having them deleted.
