As people have been discussing their favourite game, why not discuss the first game you went to and what made you come back.
My first game was in the 06/07 reason at home to belfast. Panthers won 5-3 with a macaslan empty netter. It was an end to end came with loads of goals and action.
The pure fact of the sport being end to end, fast paced, hard hitting, the possibility of a scrap or two and the prospect of loads of goals is what made me come back for more! ;D

First game - a 14-2 win over Trafford Metros in the Norwich Union Trophy in 1988. I was 8 years old and have absolutely no memory of it. What bought me back? My family, I never really had any choice in the matter. I was going to be a Panthers fan. That was it. End of discussion. ;D

93-94 season against Hull (I think - was only 11 at the time) at the Arena. Think we won about 5-3 or something. I remember it being very fast and couldnt remember what it was but I loved the game. Watched the play-offs that year on the BBC. We beat you 8-0 in the semi (sorry - I keep bringing up bad memories for you guys!) and then got smashed 12-1 by Cardiff in the final But those 3 games just made me really get into it and from then on it was all about hockey!

Home to belfast 03-04 / 04-05 cant quite remember, went with my football team as we had been given freee tickets, sat right at the back and i was the only one interested, we lost 2-0 and i loved it from then on but had no-one to go with (waits for the 'awwwwww')
then started going properly from 05/06 the challenge cup semi final home game against coventry where we lost 4-3 and sutter had a goal disallowed for high sticking in the final 2 minuites and even from not knowing the rules i wa sup in arms as even i knew it wasnt a high stick!!! then have gone to every home, and a few away game since then, it gripped me the atmosphere and the intensity, owuldnt miss it now for the world!

Oct 83 v Streatham Redskins, lost 8-3. Cannot remember a deal about the game at all. We met a couple while on holiday in Austria who at that time had reserved seats. We met up with them on our return to the UK and was invited along to the above mentioned game, we instantly became "hooked", have remained best of friends ever since and in all those years have only missed a handfull of games.

93, presume it was the 93/94 season. Panthers V Whitley Bay Warriors. I went back for the sheer passion, it was like the puck didnt matter, it just bounced around off guys who were throwing themselves at each other. I stood talking to a certain #22 who had broken his leg the week before in Whitley bay and cudnt play! Cant remember much about the hockey though until I went to the B&H final in 94 Vs Cardiff devils. Blaisdell ran the game and a 14 year old Stevie Lyle was a little out of his depth despite putting in a good performance.
Always came back for the passion and because I was so an awe of the players. Sometimes nowdays I question those attributes in the players but they were very good memories!

Yeah I thought I better mention that one just so i didnt get flamed too bad! I can still see the goal scored by the line of Welsh lads who probably weren't a lot older than I was at the time. ;D Probably my all time favourite non-Panthers hockey moment.

Think this thread has been around before. Cos I remember saying I was at the 2nd home game at the rebirth in 1980.Read Mick Hollands report in the FP and enjoyed the 'new sport' in town.Got hooked as many others. Just wish I could do a website and do all my stats on that.About the only thing I have not done yet apart from writing a hockey crime fiction story. Who killed ' insert here your choice name'.....Many stories from over the years can fill a book since coming to my first game. It's not as good as the old days but can't imagine not coming along.

Its amazing what memory does to you. He played not long after it so your right he cant have broken it. He said at the time though he thinks its broken. Terry Ord/Orr was it that hit him? Never heard of him but thats what comes into my head...

Either 93/94 or 94/95 season b&h quarter final vs Peterbourogh Pirates 15-3 in the end. My friend had spare ticket and I remember him telling me to look out for a nutter called Darren Schwartz. Don't rmember much of the game apart from a Pirate took a stick to the face in the first minute or so and there was loads of blood on the ice. Couln't really get hold of tickets regularly back then, they were so hard to get hold of! must have been near the end of the season when I finally managed to get to another game.

February 93 at the old stadium against the Humberside Seahawks. My main memory is Scott Young'd ridiculous hair and the fact that the weird looking guy seemed to BE the other team!

My girlfriend has been into it since the 90s and dragged me along a few years ago, unfortunatly she took me to a string of hull, cap games so i thought i was abit dull and boring but went to the steelers game a day or 2 after boxing day, lost 2-1 but still enjoyed and went to most games after that.
