looks like they're learning from last season.
I would like to see others follow and put the sport "out there"

I like it. I think the EIHL should do one to put as a TV advert.
Just 3 or 4 that are 30 seconds long showing some skill, big hits, speed, a couple of the big guys squaring off..................
But maybe thats too much like common sense...............

Hopefully though with more involvement from sky you never know.

Anything that helps get bums on seats because thats what matters. Once fans are in the building let them make there own choices, 9 times out of 10 a newbie will return after their first game. Again well done bison for making the effort to promote themselves and the sport.

Very well done, I'd be out the 'sports' bars in the town asking them to play it during football programming. Is it just me or did everyone else expect it to cut to GM saying 'fabulous'

This is a promo video for more, how was it put in a thread the other day, "HAPPY CLAPPERS". Did you notice there was the mum who brings her kids, the Grannie who was bought for a night out, and has been coming back ever since. The Grandad who feels safe enough to bring his grandchildren, and do the Chelsea Dagger dance every time the team score. And shock horror, the Dad and his family who are cheering the team even when they are losing. So I find it very strange that this video is mainly being praised, I would have thought that the fraternal brotherhood of "There's no atmosphere anymore", would have hated it. Personally I liked it, but would show on TV at night just the first bit with the players, it gives the game more of an edge. And show the entire thing on children's TV, can you just imagine it, "Mum can we go please, pleeease!". Here are a few quotes from other threads. "Blimey - is it just me or did anyone else miss the announcement that you are only allowed to go to hockey games if you are a saint? !!! Its SUCH a family sport that toothless canadians hit each other with sticks and beat the hell out of each other! Jesus, besides the UFC its the most violent sport there is!" "In my eyes and i know many others eyes too, the 'family' atmosphere is what makes the match night experience so poor " "Just look at the number of people doing the Chelsea Dagger as the team skate off at the end" Interesting that yesterday on at least one thread, fans were although not saying ban families (or section them off) they were blaming them for a lack of atmosphere. Yet today a promo video showing a family atmosphere gets praise. GO FIGURE ;D

GO FIGURE ;D Difference being, having been to Basingstoke, is that they have a brilliant match night presentation, with an announcer who pumps up the crowd. Mix in the fact that it's a small rink which creates an awesome atmosphere when full then you have a recipie for success. Put it this way, they don't play any 'Hillbilly Rock' rubbish at Basingstoke!

Totally agree with you, but there were fans yesterday on one of the threads, who were intimating that doing the Chelsea dagger, was an happy clapper thing. And that only football style chanting, would get the right atmosphere. Yet the Bison fans clearly do the Chelsea D (they are seen to be doing it in the vid), and they applaud or shout even when their team are doing badly, they are true fans. They support the team, whatever the outcome, 2nd from bottom, yet they still support the team. They deserve better next season. We on the other hand finish 3rd, up 2 places on last season I believe, and win the Challenge cup as well, yet there are people who would get rid of ME. I know this is my first season as a supporter, but I thought the Panthers fans were made of better stuff. If the match night is lacking in passion, then that is down to ourselves, and not because of the family atmosphere.

Boswanga............what the hell are you going on about?
Bison put some families on their promo video then you bring up another thread where I said its marketed as a family game but actually its far from it. I don't see your point.
Ofcourse they want to market it as a family sport as they need to attract as many people as possible due to their limited fan base.
And who said people who to the Chelsea Dagger are happy clappers? If it's in a post I havent seen it.
I do the Chelsea Dagger when we score.................
Its the Panther, tree, moose song I think people over 14yrs old should be shot for not Chelsea Dagger.
AND no one mentioned football chants...................
blimey............

Nice vid. Gotta be good for the sport.
All the things they mention there are Basingstoke though, not Nottingham. 'Boswanga' I have no idea what you are talking about. Our old arena was like that but 10 times better, the NIC is nothing like it. Listen to the fans and talk of being part of something and being a community, its not the same at the NIC, cant see your point

Yet the Bison fans clearly do the Chelsea D (they are seen to be doing it in the vid), and they applaud or shout even when their team are doing badly, they are true fans. They support the team, whatever the outcome, 2nd from bottom, yet they still support the team. Nobody ever argued that doing the Chelsea Dagger was a happy clapper thing. The argument put forward (and I agree with it by the way) is that thousands of folk enthusiastically doing the Chelsea Dagger dance to give the team a send off after a gutless, effort-free "performance" can be labelled happy clapping and does not fit in with the results-focused mentality that is needed to win titles. If the crowd response is exactly the same win or lose, there is little incentive to win. That is where our match night presentation falls down - there should be a recognition that the result and performance are important, not just having a dance and squealing for the team when they frankly have not earned it. Being "true fans" who stick by the team through thick and thin does not mean blindly accepting (and appearing to actually celebrate and praise) lacklustre performances and lack of effort.

Re the happy clapping (especially the Chelsea Dagger) it must be remembered that the players find it embarrassing especially after a lack lustre performance
However they are under orders to do it, I know Rasto was embarrassed at been told to do it, after certain performances.

Plus lets not forget Ian that 2 trophies in two seasons is the BEST haul EVER for panthers, prior to this panthers fans have had very little to celebrate and cheer regarding winning...
Being a relatively new fan Boswanga, you have been very lucky regards Panthers, IF you have been supporting Panthers for over 10 years (and in some cases more than 20) and watched other teams even supposedly lesser lights lift trophies then perhaps it isnt a surprise when longer term fans think that it isnt beneficial to support the team off the ice when they have seen a dire performance on it as it is these exact seem performances that have robbed the Panthers of their league victory they so desperately crave....

I apologise, I got carried away, and perhaps I misunderstood what some of the posters were saying on the other thread. Like I stated I am a newbie, and perhaps I am looking at the subject through rose tinted glasses. I agree that doing the Chelsea D at the end of a game that we lose, would seem a little wrong(actually very wrong). But is it wrong to clap the team, if they lose, but only just. Tex you are right of course, I have been privileged to see the Panthers lift both the Play off trophy last season, and the CC this one. In my defense I have Parkinson's, which unfortunately sometimes leaves me a little confused, and I misunderstand the point being made, I can completely lose the plot of a conversation, or in this case the thread . So for future reference if I seem to be going astray from the thread, just tell me to take my meds and shut it. And if you see me at the games next season come up and say Hi, I will be the one spilling my beer as usual ;D, hate them flimsy plastic pots.
