Really really interesting to see McSorely is still keeping an eye on London. It's a shame he couldn't get involved with the racers I guess but this all sounds exciting.

The league needs a London team imo, I would imagine potential league sponsors could be put off by us not having a capital team.
Be great to get a team back

Interesting also, that the letter from Andy Buxton mentioned council support for a bigger Arena in Coventry and the letter dated July 2007. So may be not just "pie in the sky" talk cos of the Sheffield to Rother Valley announcement.

Or mine. Like it's already been said, it would be great for the league and the sport to get a team in London. Hopefully it happens and maybe look to get a couple more teams into the league. Then as well it would be more competitive.

Croydon getting a rink has been doing the rounds for a while, maybe even before the Racers folded (I still miss the Racers, but anyway). I'm not sure whether I believe it'll ever happen but then again I said the same about the NIC Maybe it'll be built about the same time as Brighton Arena or Leeds Arena. IMHO I think, ideally, that London needs two EIHL teams rather than one based in different parts of the city. That way you'll get rivalries & have a larger area to draw fans from.

Good idea about the two teams Paul, for a similar reason I'd like to get at least another Scottish team and a ROI team, build a good rivalry for Caps and the Giants which can only stregthen the league

I think the league really needs a few more Southern based teams plus a rival for Edinburgh.

it would be great for london to come back but for a better expansion the league needs more for example:
4 new teams, 2 southern, 1 irish and 1 scottish. Play each other home and away twice for 52 regular season games will help create rivalry between teams and fans which will make better atmosphere.
From this revamp playoffs. Top 10 through to 2 groups round robin then finals weekend. Its what all the fans want.
Make the knockout cup compulsory for all and make it sudden death matches. Yeah you'd have to draw byes but hey ho.
Cc could stay same with more teams in each group makes it more competitive.
Doing all the above would be great for fans and the league, would bring more sponsors, better players because of in depth playoff system its what imports seem to live for.
All of this would be great but i'm just a fan with an opinion not as if the league is gonna listen is it?

I agree Spence but i think a total scrapping of the KO cup is needed

Yeah I'd like to see a pre season competition instead of the BKO

Yeah I'd like to see a pre season competition instead of the BKO Id like to see a Cup with the EPL involved so you get the old cross over games..

Only problem being how many people would turn up to games against the EPL teams, I'm guessing probably not enough to make it financially viable unless like Sheffield you have a smaller arena to play out of for low attendance games.
Would be good to see teams like Bracknell and MK up here though

Yeah I'd like to see a pre season competition instead of the BKO The sport has always had something missing ever since the B&H Cup disappeared from us. It was also a coup that, although the choice of company might not be of everyones liking, such a high profile organisation were prepared to be involved with British Ice Hockey investing money and helping with the sport's exposure in the way it did.

i say get more teams in get rid of the knockout cup and bring the B&H cup back and have all the pro teams in england play for it instead of the top flight teams
