Anyone going to the derby game on Saturday? It'll be my first Notts game in nearly two years, so I'd like nothing more than a win over the Reds.

Went to the Stoke game last night.
They played some nice football in patches but without sufficient quality to unlock Stokes defence.

A 'Pies win wouldn't have been an impossibility.

It was hardly a £6m team Forest put out. Earnshaw cost about double the rest of the team put together. A decent final practice match for Forest.
7,665 there. Will Notts get a bigger crowd this season?

Will Notts get a bigger crowd this season? no but you get the gist that forest have that kind of money to spend on players whereas we dont. if im quite honest i thought the score would have been 4 or 5-1, but to take some positives (i know they made 8 0r 9 changes) we scored 2 against a championship club, whereas we could hardly manage a goal against any league 2 clubs last year. as for the crowd question...i doubt it!

7,665 there. Will Notts get a bigger crowd this season? Looked more than that although thought it was a poor turn out of Notts fans.. Easily more red dogs there! Massive difference in class should of been 4/5-1 easily.. Notts looked very very poor in the first half, Bennett free header from 6 yards out?

More worrying than the stoke game. We genuinely outplayed stoke (they probably wanted to let us have the ball to practice positioning) whereas when Forest turned it up we had no answer. Good first 10mins, good last 10 but ball chased for the rest.
Oh well, the end of a decent pre season. 2more players in for Saturday and we will be ready. If not, I dont fancy our chances of anything other than battling in the bottom 10. Theres no point having playmakers like Mackenzie, Butcher and Hamshaw pinging the ball around on the pitches in our division! A genuine target man will work wonders for us though

Weve blown the budget to stop that happening on Johnson and Hoult... neither played lol! We will be fine if we keep our small squad fully fit. With Strachan, Hunt, Hoult and Johnson all out we are hitting problems before the season has even started! Defeat isnt a touchy subject mate, we are used to it!

Notts sign Delroy Facey and a guy from non league who scored over 40goals last season!
Facey is perfect, exactly the big guy we need to work with Forrester. Im liking the new signings, weve got some true quality in there now. I can see us being top 10 this season definately, all depends on keeping everybody fit though and with big players such as Hoult,Hunt, Johnson, Strachan and Weston all injury prone it is a big gamble!

Good game last night. I was very impressed with the level of performance from the game and to say Donny fielded their best side, Notts showed them up. A very strong display, and this is coming from a Forest ST holder.
Beardsley is a good aquisition for you guys. I'm not sure how long you have him for, but if he's going to be darting past Championship level players, he's going to be very interesting to watch in League Two. Was also impressed with Myles Weston when he came on. He seemed to give Notts the boost they needed to just step it up that little bit higher to grab a goal, and they did.
One other thing that I noticed was how the atmosphere has improved since I was last at Meadow Lane (beginning of last season). I assume it is do with putting the home fans in the Kop, but even on Saturday, Notts were very loud against Bradford at Valley Parade and there was only 862 out of 14,000. Top notch.
Hope you guys keep it up, and if you continue how you've played the last couple of games, I can't see why Notts wouldn't be pushing play-offs by the end of the season

Myles Weston is simply a class above, the problem is he is VERY injury prone. Keep all the guys fit all season and we could push for playoffs if we pick up a couple more guys but thats two very big IFs! The extra noise is as a result of the kop. Even away, it has given fans the beleif we can actually make some noise! Things are going well but as a Notts fan im very sceptical, a couple of losses and fans start missing games and it all goes to pot! At £20 a ticket, I wont be there every game.

Well if County produce more good football like that which was played on Tuesday night, then I shall be there for the odd game this year. May even venture into the Kop. Then again.... ;D
