Im more excited than I have been for a long time but lots of new players need to gel and if we lose Pipe we lose the heart and soul of the team for the past couple of years. Im a notts fan, im too bitter to make a balanced prediction but I would be surprised if we are not touching playoffs at least come april

I think county always start off well but as they get past christmas they just can't seem to string a run a good results together.

went to the game last night which was a good game, but those mindless idoitic pathetic moronic forest fans who had to run on to the pitch at the end of the game want locking up! and before anybody says anything yes i know notts fans want on the pitch as well , they also should be looked up but if the forest fans had not of come on to the pitch in the first place ours would not come on.....as for the score gutted!! i thoought notts derserved a draw

To be fair we started with a few experimental players aswell, I thought there was some good play, some poor play. Forests young players looked lively but I wasnt overly impressed. Wilson was out of position and it showed IMO, he did ok but wasnt as settled as usual.
As for the incident at the game, I wont go there, this is not the place!
Main positive was Laurie Dudfield. Hes a big part of this team and needs a big season and he looked mega sharp and made some nice link up plays

I thought you were pretty terrible and we controlled the game. My Notts County mate who was at the game agreed with me. The fight was ridiculous and if we're lucky, some of the morons may take a few of each other out next time. Absolutely no need for it.

I thought you had our pants down first 25 but then it was pretty close. Id say 2-1 was harsh on notts...

Sounded a decent opening game from notts, 1-1 away at grimsby isnt a disaster but another goal conceded from a set piece already

More draws! I went for the first time this season on sat and we were naff. We didnt deserve to lose because they were poor aswell but we were playing a long ball up to Andy Parkinson, Sam and later SWD, Theyre combined height would not have matched one of their centre halfs!

At least you not undeafted! Thommo should play Parkinson on the right wing, we use to immense on the flank whilst wearing the white on Tranmere Rovers.

We are undefeated in the league but averaging a point a game isnt enough and with the clueless way we played on saturday we dont look like a promotion team.
Concerning attendances too

Judging from what I've seen, Notts need a goal scorer, its ok you've got seven strikers but no natural goal scorer. Saturday was a shocking game, but you get these games from time to time, I think once you get that first win many more will follow. like wise with Forest aswel.

its not that our strikers cant score they need decent feeds from the midfield.
lumping high balls up to SWD and Duds isnt gonna get anybody anywhere, both ar eunder 6ft and against big 6 ft 2 defenders there not a cat-in-hells chance of winning one.
play to feet and we may get somewhere.

Exactly Gilly but the problem on saturday was we had a left back on one wing (Mayo) and a central midfielder on the other (Smith) so its difficult to penetrate down the flanks either.
Lee will make a difference but its embarrasing that we rely so much on an average 37(?) year old striker. You dont always need a target man aslong as youve got strikers who make life difficult for the Defenders trying to clear the ball (Stallard,Allsop etc)

yup, and with the better midfield we have this season and the likes of butcher and macKenzie they are good enough players to thread a ball through (on the floor!) behiond the defence, for SWD especially to use his speed.
as you say rich we do rely on Jason too much and need to use different ways around it. i think when we get weston back from injury him and parky on the flanks, now they are wide players and hopefully will deliver.

we do need a natural striker! as P'Ed'dy said. somebody in the form of McLeod or Knight or jamie forrester. someone who knows where the net is and can find it instinctivly. the only problem is they cost money, and as of yet there hasnt been money to spend since about 2000!
