How much truth do folks believe there is in this supposed Cash injection/ takeover with the former Hull City Chairman? I think i read that the supporters trust were against the idea even though there would be extra funds for players etc. I can't help but wonder if the supporters trust are on some kind of ego trip and don't want to see someone else spoil their little quango. I must be getting cynical in my old age......

I must be getting cynical in my old age...... I dont think theres any doubt now all the Wilkinson stories etc are floating about. Chairman and director of football resign within a couple of days of each other, several other people leave their posts, its only Thommo left TBH I think the takeover bid were going to pay the trust their money back and no more. On one side of things, why should they accept that when THEY stopped the club going under and there was no one else offering money then but on the other hand they saved the team because they wanted to and want the best for the club NOT to make money out of the situation. Personally im worried whatever happens. We dont want a Scardino / Storrie situation again but we cant carry on like this. And as for spending money... Beleive me we have! We may not have paid transfer fees out much but just look at this seasons squad compared to last, theres a lot more talent this season which doesnt come cheap. Team full of superstars with no heart and no battle, ironic that im posting that on a panthers forum and not about the hockey team!

2-3 loss to Hereford tonight.....was the free student game, we always lose when Trent give away free tickets to Notts games

Crow on loan, cudnt get in the pboro team who lie in 7th occupying the last playoff spot but good enough to get in our mid table team. Il reserve judgement until iv seen him on sat at home and away at field mill but I think that says a lot!

Just heard the news - thank God for that. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out Thommo! Will the fans need to have a whip round to pay for buying him out of his 3 year contract though?

So he must be the only manager to be sacked twice by Notts!! ;D So who next for the poisoned chalice? Peter Taylor? Could we afford him. Probably be Andy Leg from Hucknall knowing how Notts work.(Old boy, cheapest option etc.........) At lesat 1 saving grace is that Gary Megson is now at Leicester...... What were some saying about continuity being a platform for success? Obviously we haven't taken heed.

Iv been a notts all my life and Thommo was the worst manager iv seen. Not saying that as a knee jerk reaction but he was poor.
He Criticised his own players which he brought in and managed, he was having constant digs at the fans with references to 'you' all the time. IE YOU were only 90mins from the conference etc.
Plus he looked so unprofessional it wasnt funny torwards the end. No tactical knowledge, no motivation skill, lost the backing of his players, the fans and the board, how he lasted this long is beyond me.
The payoff is a lot of money but at least attendances should rise. New manager to be announced tomorrow, im happy with the replacement

He'd certainly be a popular choice amongst the fans given his record as a Notts Player. We could do a lot worse than him IMO.

Awww, not a big enough team to get your own thread so you thought youd troll ours!
Back to business as usual, 2.1 win for the mighty magpies! Made heavy weather of it but there was only ever gonna be one winner
Stags scraped a 0.0 and barely got a touch of the ball and still bottom! Shame!

1 team sacked Dearden and 1 team hired him. 'nuff said
1 season in the secon tier of English football EVER!! does not put Stags as bigger than Notts. Notts will always be bigger than Mansfield regardless of our current plight.
As a side issue and I mean this sincerely, I do hope that the takeover at Field Mill is concluded sooner rather than later as I feel that Mr Haslam no longer has his heart there.
I have no axe to grind with Mansfield town FC and hope they get back on track soon. Just as long as the 'Pies are showing you the way.

Home tie against Havant and Waterlooville in the 2nd roud of th F.A Cup. Hopefully the boys will be professional and disciplined and make it through to the 3rd round and a possible bumper payday. Not taking anything for granted though.

At least we look like making the 3rd round!
I hope they put the ticket prices down again for the 2nd round game. We went on sat, saved a fiver, used it to put a bet on, I was 2mins away from £65 and the lad I went with won £41!

I went to my first county match in around four years on saturday and i forgot how the game is played at that level. Most of the ball was in the air but was still a good game of football. But give county credit against histon where it was needed and their second half performance was exellant.
